I agree—I’ve always thought that. And few are so squeaky clean that nothing could be conjured up or exploited so as to ruin them. I also think Dems and Republicans go to D.C. and want to fit in so badly that they will do almost anything. Thus they refer to the opposing party as “my dear friend.” After all, they want to be viewed as a guy with whom you can raise a few in whatever bar they all frequent. Few people have the internal integrity/guts to be the only one to stand up for right against peer pressure. When I saw that glimpse of it in Joe Wilson, I was on my feet cheering in my living room. It is actually a rare quality.

Another tought night in Washington eating off the taxpayers expense while chasing some intern or thumbing through Elliot Spitzer’s little black book. Life is tough when you’re a Roman Senator. Didn’t W stay close to home at Christmas and on holidays, so his security people could be with their families ?
Doesn’t matter if he has to stay, he’s saying that to make people think he is suffering for them. He’s already taken more vacation than I have and plays more golf than half the PGA anyway.
