Desiree Rogers is under scrutiny for her office's role in the infamous security breakdown at the state dinner. A woman with a reputation as a consummate perfectionist is being criticized for dropping the ball — and, by some, for putting her own aggrandizement over her job.
The White House social secretary under fire for her office's role in the security breakdown that let an invited couple into a state dinner once joked that she regularly allowed party crashers at White House events.
Desiree Rogers made the claim in an interview with the trade magazine BizBash at the Creative Coalition's annual meeting in June -- months before two reality-TV wannabes crashed Obama's party last week for the Indian prime minister.
"Lots of people just come anyways," she said, joking that she had added extra tables and benches at every event to accommodate people who just show up. "They won't take no for an answer. Finally, I just said, 'All right, come on in. It's no use kicking you out.'"

Yes, they were wanded and passed though metal detectors. Metal detectors won't stop somebody from getting through with a tiny glass needle full of some potent toxin or biological agent and sticking the President with it. A special protocol MUST be observed regarding people coming withing physical-contact distance of the President.

WOW!!! Next time I just want to go to an airport gate without a boarding pass I wonder if the security people will let me in if I just don't take no for an answer. I hate to say it but this administration reminds me of the family on "Good Times" moving into the White House.
This is exactly why this lady should not be employed in this position. This is not a matter of snobs being put out by socializing with the wrong ‘kind’, but a matter of NATIONAL SECURITY! This woman and in her inability to grasp the seriousness of her job put not only our President AND Vice President in danger, but put TWO COUNTRIES in jeapardy by potential war if the PM of India were to have been killed.
The flip attitude not only angers me, but it should anger everyone. This is just one more example that the Obamas are PLAYING being President.
Actually, the family on “Good Times” was a decent, hard-working family with a strong sense of right and wrong. Even Jimmie Walker, for all of his antics, was deep down a very sweet and loving young man.
