It's difficult to say for sure that the current vaccine wouldn't at least offer some protection against the mutated version.

This article claims that those vaccinated in 1976 might have some immunity against the current virus. If that's the case, I would be surprised if the current vaccine didn't offer some protection.

Either way, I hope they include this mutated version in the seasonal next year.

I think this statement in the article (swine flu vaccine probably would not protect against it well, Britain’s national medical laboratory reported Friday.) is very alarming and the title of the actual article is a joke .

I think mutations can be deadly as they were found in the fatal H1N1 cases .

I think to say mutations aren’t a cause for alarm is being very disingenuous to say the very least :)
