Poll Data (Current poll data are brutal for the Democrats and Obama)
Powerline ^ | 11/24/2009 | John Hinderaker

Current poll data are brutal for the Democrats. In the Rasmussen survey, President Obama's approval index, the difference between those who strongly approve and strongly disapprove of his performance, has hit a record low of -15. Overall, voters disapprove of Obama by 54-45%. That's no doubt in part because voters have also turned decisively against the Democrats' health care proposals, opposing them, currently, by 56-38%.

Meanwhile, voters now favor Republicans over Democrats by seven points on the generic ballot, 44-37%.

Byron York examines the numbers behind Obama's slumping Gallup rating and finds that Obama is now at 39% with whites and below 50% among all those who go to church. Pluralities of all of those who are over 29 years old or earn more than $2,000 a month disapprove of Obama's performance. Looking at it positively, you could say that the President is still hanging tough with the pivotal young, poor, atheist voting bloc. Michael Barone, meanwhile, asks whether Democrats are beginning to desert their sinking ship.

Is that premature? Sure. But there is no doubt that if the 2010 election were held tomorrow, the Democrats would be slaughtered. What do they plan to do between now and November 2010 to turn that around? Jam an unpopular health care bill down the voters' throats, enact a job-destroying tax on carbon that most people now believe is founded on a myth, and raise taxes. [UPDATE: I should have added, they're also freeing Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and four confederates into the federal court system--that'll generate some helpful headlines over the next year--and now they're also talking about bringing back "comprehensive immigration reform," which prior to the Obama administration was the most unpopular thing Congress had done in a long time. It's a perfect storm of legislative malpractice.] Beyond that, they are crossing their fingers and hoping that the extraordinary vigor of the American economy will survive all of the damage they have inflicted on it, and will rally by November.

That could happen, of course. But it seems like a rather poor bet.

Inside the numbers: How Obama has fallen By: Byron York Chief Political Correspondent 11/24/09 10:03 AM EST

We've all seen reports that Barack Obama's job approval rating has recently fallen below 50 percent in the Gallup poll for the first time since the president took office in January. A look inside those numbers -- Gallup publishes a weekly breakdown of its results by demographic groups -- shows that there are a lot of other firsts in the polling:

Among age groups: For the first time in the White House, Obama is below 50 percent with every age group of Americans except those between 18 and 29. He's at 48 percent with people in the 30-49 range; 46 percent with people in the 50-64 range; and 42 percent with people 65 and over. Among those 18-29, he's at 61 percent.

Among racial groups: For the first time in the White House, Obama support among white Americans has fallen below 40 percent. He's at 39 percent among whites; 91 percent among blacks, and 70 percent among Hispanics.

Among income groups: For the first time in the White House, Obama is below 50 percent with every income group except those making less than $2,000 a month. He's at 49 percent among those making $2,000 to $4,999 a month; 44 percent among those making $5,000 to $7,499 a month; and 48 percent among those making $7,500 and more a month. Among the bottom income group, those making less than $2,000 a month, Obama's approval rating is 59 percent.

Religious practice: For the first time in the White House, Obama is below 50 percent with everyone who goes to church. He at 41 percent among those who attend weekly and 49 percent among those who attend nearly weekly or monthly. Among those who seldom or never go to church, he is at 55 percent.

Obama isn’t there for the majority, he is there for the socialist revolution.

Only those who understand how crazy, angry and irresponsible the leftists really are, understand that they are not going to back off.

We’re going to have to build a bigger margin than this to overcome acorn, union thugs, teacher thugs, trial lawyers, etc.

All that might make a difference if we do actually have an election. In the past, when someone suggested we might not, I didn’t get too excited but with this administration tearing at the Constitution the way it is I have to believe we might just have experienced our last free election.

The number for whites is the key to his re-electability. He got 43% of the white vote in 2008. 39% puts him in the danger zone. If he’s in the low 30’s in 2012, he’s toast.

"Only those who understand how crazy, angry and irresponsible the leftists really are, understand that they are not going to back off".

They'll back off. They fear us...more and more with each passing day.

The healthcare bills are mere show now...they need their base to believe they tried. However, DEMOCRATS will ascertain there is no bill for the resident to sign...and will craft the show so that the majority of their caucus can play best to the hometown crowd.

But, don't you believe for even a minute the cowards in the House and Senate can't read the polls...and that they're not FREAKING OUT.

The only TRULY committed revolutionary Marxists are in the Whitehouse.

  Old Butch

John was in the fertilized egg business. He had several hundred young layers(hens), called ‘ pullets, ‘ and ten roosters to fertilize the eggs.He kept records, and any rooster not performing went into the soup pot andwas replaced. This took a lot of time, so he bought some tiny bells and attached them to his roosters.

Each bell had a different tone, so he couldtell from a distance, which rooster was performing. Now, he could sit on the porch and fill out an efficiency report by just listening to the bells.

John ‘ s favorite rooster, old Butch, was a very fine specimen, but this morning he noticed old Butch ‘ s bell hadn’t rung at all! When he went to investigate, he saw the other roosters were busy chasing pullets,bells-a-ringing, but the pullets, hearing the roosters coming, could run forcover.

To John’s amazement, old Butch had his bell in his beak, so it couldn’t ring. He ‘ d sneak up on a pullet, do his job and walk on to the next one.

John was so proud of old Butch, he entered him in the Renfrew County Fair and he became an overnight sensation among the judges. The result was the judges not only awarded old Butch the No Bell Piece Prize but they also awarded him the Pullet surprise as well.

Clearly old Butch was a politician in the making.

Who else but a politician could figure out how to win two of the most highly coveted awards on our planet by being the best at sneaking up on the populace and screwing them when they weren’t paying attention.

Vote carefully next year, the bells are not always audible

There is a high probabliity that tomorrow’s number will be even worse than -15 in this 3-day rolling poll.

11/22 reported an improvement for Obama to -10. This would appear to be due to an anomolously high number for that single polling day, since fore and aft, the numbers are much worse (for the President).

If my math skills are correct, we very possibly will see a -17 or -18 tomorrow or an even worse #.

I forgot to mention that the 11/22 number, which averaged with the previous bad days, gave Obama momentary uptick. That up number, which was probably around -5 will roll off and be replaced in the 3-day average with whatever this new day of polling brings.

much of this is predicated upon “controlling" the voting process. I would urge all to start getting involved in your local precincts. A max effort to maintain the integrity of the ballot box-something we failed in in NY-23-will ultimately lead to far more discomfort for all Americans.

"Obama isn’t there for the majority, he is there for the socialist revolution. "

That's a truism, for sure. However, only the majority can stop him. We get the majority in Congress in 2010, we can stifle his socialist rules, and, we will have the votes to bring his abuses up on charges, investigations (Kenneth Starr, are you free?).

He has a long way to go to capture the hearts and minds of the American people...and the hearts, minds, and spirits of true Americans, IS AMERICA.

...and now they're also talking about bringing back "comprehensive immigration reform," which prior to the Obama administration was the most unpopular thing Congress had done in a long time.

Frankly, this one scares me.

We beat back the previous "comprehensive immigration reform" only because we made Congress aware that is was hugely unpopular and would cost them their jobs.

However, that doesn't seem to work with this Congress.

On the other hand, every Democrat will realize that, as far as their immediate election chances are concerned, amnesty is their only way out! Instant amnesty, with citizenship swearing-in ceremonies at your local football stadium.

And, in the Senate, there will be a few Republicans who will join in -- in the interest of gaining re-election (temporarily), while engaging in bi-partisanship.

How would John McCain vote on this issue? Or Lindsay Graham? Hmmmmmmmmmmm.

Further, the buy-out of Mary Landrieu will look like chump change when the future of the Democrat party goes on the line. They'd give Snow and Collins Acadia National Park to get them on board, with Maine getting half of New Hampshire.

We've got to view an amnesty initiative as very, very real. And very, very dangerous.
