Sarah Palin is rolling her "Going Rogue" book tour into Fort Hood, the site of the Nov. 5 shooting that left 13 dead and dozens wounded.

"I'm especially looking forward to meeting our brave men and women in uniform at Fort Hood," Palin, 45, wrote on her Facebook page.

She'll be at the base on Dec. 4.

"I'm joining the efforts of many others by donating my royalties from the book sales during our stop at Fort Hood to the families of the victims whose lives have been forever changed by the tragic events of November 5th," she wrote.

A nice gesture, but perhaps a little too soon for a book tour there.

I wonder if it’s open to the civilian public.

If it is, Mrs. Tick and I are planning to go.

I dont think this will be a book tour, I think she will meet with the soldiers and their families. She should request that the media be barred from this. That prick Norah O’Donnell follows her everywhere, she is even in Indiana today. Its a wonderful gesture on Sarah’s part. She cares so much about our brave men and women who fight for our country. Meanwhile Obama says taking pictures with soldiers is a nice “Photo op”

Killeen Councilman Ernest Wilkerson, who voted for President Obama last year, welcomed Palin's visit.

"It's a great idea for her to come now and visit the troops. That way she'll know the significant role Fort Hood plays in our national security," he said.

"Her coming in will be no greater or lesser than the Dallas Cowgirls coming to Fort Hood," he said. "I really do like her," he added. "She's spunky, fiery

LOL. Sarah equals the Dallas Cowgirls. Nowhere in the story does it mention that her son is seving in the US Army and is an Iraq veteran.

The book signing was planned prior to the attack. Palin contacted authorities at Ft. Hood, and asked if they wanted her to cancel, and they said no, to continue as planned. Palin is also going to Ft. Bragg NC during the tour.

Too early? Her son serves in the US Army and is an Iraq war veteran. Sarah has some skin in the game. She is doing more than hawking books.

“A nice gesture, but perhaps a little too soon for a book tour there.”

President Bush & Laura were there the day or so afterward. But, they weren’t selling a book, if that’s what you mean.

I think NOW is the time to visit while the horrors of terrorism are fresh in the minds of the immediate victims and the rest of us. The Media and our ‘Pisher in Chief’ are doing all they can to make this go away...

I don’t know what it’s going to take to wake people up. *SHRUG*

No,no,....this isn’t a “Bill Clinton” or “Barack 0bama” book tour...Sarah really does care and wants to help and show support.

It is my understanding Ft. Hood was on their stop list before the terrorist attack.

Palin, confirmed with the base that they still wanted to go ahead with the visit.

I know, I know. I just can't shake the idea that a book tour is meant to be advertising and selling something.
