Five Terrible Cruelties of Liberalism

Liberalism is an extraordinarily deceptive, ruinous and cruel ideology. That's because liberalism comes, arms wide open, whispering sweet words of compassion and pity, even as it forcefully slams down a boot upon the neck of people it's "helping." It's bad enough to see people's lives ruined by those who make no pretense about their intentions, but to see human beings destroyed by those who claim to have only their best interests at heart...well, let's just say it's a hell of a thing.

What liberalism does to minorities: Liberalism falsely convinces minorities in America that they are widely hated and despised for their skin color. How terrible it must be to spend your days seeing racial slights that don't exist, feeling despised by people who don't give you a second thought, and expecting that you will be treated unfairly by people, most of whom think no more of your skin color than they do the color of the carpet they're standing on.

Believing these lies leads to a sense of victimhood that liberalism offers to "fix" with more destructive solutions like Affirmative Action. How many white Americans have doubted the achievement of a black American because of Affirmative Action? How many black Americans have doubted their own worthiness because they thought they may have been given a helping hand because of their race? How many black college students who would have graduated with honors at UNC-Chapel Hill flunked out of Harvard because Affirmative Action got them into a college that was over their head? In the wildest dreams of the Ku Klux Klan, they could have never come up with an ideology as deviously destructive to minorities in America as liberalism.

What liberalism does to children: One of the great ironies of modern life is the constant liberal refrain of "do it for the children." That's true, not only because liberalism is directly responsible for the death of more than 40 million children via abortion, but because liberal policies have descended like a plague of locusts upon the inheritance that America's sons and daughters would have otherwise received. Generations after everyone who went to Woodstock is in the ground, Americans will still be paying off their spending. What better thing could we do for the children than to safeguard the country we grew up in so that they'll have an opportunity to live the American dream, too?

What liberalism does to Africa: Liberalism's smothering paternalism has arguably done considerably more damage to Africa than European colonialism. "The Western world has given Africa 'about a trillion dollars in aid in the past 50 years' and yet as a whole, the continent could be fairly said to have gone backwards over the last 10-15 years." Obviously our aid is doing little for Africa, but we can't stop, even if it would be better for them to learn to stand on their own two feet, because liberalism says it’s better to ruin millions of lives than to risk making liberals feel bad.

If only liberalism similarly prioritized the lives of African children over those of song birds. In another great irony, it's conservatives who argue that DDT should be used in Africa to kill mosquitoes and wipe out malaria, while liberals are willing to watch millions die because they're afraid that to do otherwise -- might put a few birds at risk.

What liberalism has done to the American family: Oh, the intentions are always good...so liberalism says. They just don't want anyone to feel bad or be judged negatively. They want everyone to have a good time and they believe the government should be there to pick up the pieces if things don't go well. So, we get...

Welfare checks. Gay marriage. No fault divorce. The sexual revolution. Attacks on Christianity. Lauding hedonism and single mothers in Hollywood. "A woman needs a man like a fish needs a bicycle."

But, when inevitably divorce rates skyrocket, our prisons fill up with children who never had fathers living in the home, and our society starts to fray around the edges, no one wants to admit that liberalism is at the heart of the entire problem.

What liberalism does to the poor: What mother dreams that her child will grow up to be on food stamps? What decent father wants to see his son eating free breakfast at school? How can you care about a person and want to see him living in a government housing project, collecting welfare, and nursing a grudge against the people in our society who have succeeded in life, instead of trying to become a success himself?

Liberalism says its adherents should pat themselves on the back for their compassion because they're making it possible for people to live that way. How many men's pride have they stolen with that "compassion?" How many lives has that "compassion" helped mire in misery? How many people, who could have made good lives for themselves, in the end, became dependent on the government and chose lives of mediocrity? If someone views that as "compassion," then his moral compass is shattered.

Giving Terrorists our citizens rights is a violation of the Geneva Convention. The Geneva Convention is all that separates us from unlimited Terrorism and civility during war. Giving these rights is exactly what the terrorist world wide have been seeking ever since the Geneva Convention. Giving the Terrorists these rights declares open warfare on citizens worldwide.

Sadly, I have long believed that the Ku Klux Klan is alive and well, secretely and quietly reveling in the obvious destruction of the Black Family, silently counting the death toll among young blacks in the inner and sinking cities, and smiling as LIBERAL GOODNESS does more to destroy the hopes and aspirations of an entire race of people who deserved and deserve better.
The KLAN now realizes that its work is being done by others. Sadly again, MORE damage is being done by those who preach LOVE than was ever committed by those who preached HATE.

When I was a child, I was in a terrible situation. I was intelligent enough to realize that only one person could or would get me out of it: ME!

The comprehension of the importance of self-reliance not only extricated me from this terrible situation, but it also made my life joyful, rich, and unimaginably successful.

Self-reliance and self-discipline are two of the most valuable assets anyone can have and two of the most valuable gifts anyone can give to himself or to anyone else.

The odious doctrine known as "Liberalism" (a misnomer--there is nothing "liberal" about this doctrine or its advocates) destroys both self-reliance and self-discipline and deprives people of them.

Another realization of priceless value that I comprehended at a very young age was this: Self-deception is the most dangerous thing there is.

Many--perhaps most--of the advocates of "Liberalism" admire its emphasis on good intentions.

3) Liberalism abhors individuality and honors collectivism.

4) Liberalism adherers and policies create the conflicts so they can pretend to create the solution.

With the sexual revolution’s Free Love he forgot the free STDs which goes up with the divorce rate and abortions.

Growing up, I lived in a neighborhood where everyone received food stamps and government health care. The belief that our poverty was the fault of the rich was pervasive. The rich stole all our money. The rich were greedy and selfish. The government has so much money that they could make our lives wonderful by giving it to us--but they won't, because of all the stingy, uncaring Republicans. Of course, every Democrat politician promised that we could have utopia, if only we would vote for them.

I haven't seen that the beliefs of the poor have changed over the last 40 years. I can't begin to describe how difficult it is to purge oneself of such destructive beliefs, when they are all one has ever known, but for someone to get out of poverty, it's crucial.

Mr. Hawkins should perform some more research. He would find this attitude is actually prevalent in housing projects. Not when the social workers are around, no, no no. Then it's, "Oh, I wish I had a good job and an education."

But when they leave, it's more like, "Can you believe those idiots just bought me a new washer and dryer?"

Your recollection of your childhood compelled me to write you. I grew up in a very different neighborhood, middle class in southern CA. We weren't rich but compared to your neighborhood we were. I was taught you can be anything you want to be, dream the dream. Still there was a lingering "victim" mentality that maybe I picked up in school or from the anti rich '60's brainwash.

My point is not until I asked God into my life and confessed and believed that Jesus Christ died and rose from the dead so that we may have life did everything change. I do not want to sound religious because I am not, I believe the Bible is the Word of God and the only way people will rise from the bondage of defeat and dismay is to believe in Him. God is our sufficiency, not the government.

Honestly, all liberals I have met do not believe in God they scoff at me, all conservatives I have met are believers. I don't use the word ALL lightly.

No it is worse, it Violates the Geneva Convention entirely... Nullifies it. Terrorists are given the same rights as Prisoners of War... Plus Citizens rights. The result is an open invitation to commit acts of Terror SINCE THERE IS NO PENALTY NOW.

The Genius of the Geneva Convention is that those Not wearing a Uniform, Not Identifying their country Authorizing them HAVE NO RIGHTS. Thus TERRORIST ARE FULLY SUBJECT TO TORTURE AND THE DEATH PENALTY by default as a result the Geneva Convention. This is what protects Civilians against Terrorism and IT IS BEING TORN DOWN.

Indeed, an oft-glossed over fact is that Planned Parenthood Founder Margaret Sanger was an Eugenicist who considered abortion as a means of weeding out “defectives” and “undesirables” — such as blacks.

But now what Planned Parenthood is doing now is weeding out ALL native-born Americans, thus making it so we need to rely upon illegal immigration to replace our own babies we are killing.

I daresay the results of this huge demographic transformation is not going to be the secular humanist Paradise that the Left is envisioning.
