Barry O. had another teachable moment telethon today and gave some sort of message about the dead soldiers, half staff flags and not jumping to conclusions(presumambly about the allah akbar killer)andthengivingaspeechorspeechifyingabouthisumemploymentgiveawayandgrandprizethatheisworkingandwon’tstopworkinguntilallamericanshaveajob,40acres,amuleandachickenineverypot?

This guy is irreverent as can be and a total asshole.

If I were the President or King of the World, I would have walked up to the podium said some Presidential words about our men and women, said I have ordered the flags to half mast out of respect and asked that we as a nation pray.

I would have then walked off.

This would have ensured I look like a leader who cares and not some self promoting asshole who wants to talk about himself or his aspirations.

As it was, the news segment that followed focused “only” on the job losses and Barry O.’s second message.

So his message of concern for our men and women was obscured by his second message.

I would have had only one telethon today, with one message and then made my announcement about political measures in my Saturday speech or on Monday.

You're so right, and it so disgusts me.

I was horrified when he went on to talk about the economy and blah-blah-blahing (I admit I stopped listening) about subjects that were obviously more important to him.

It was truly awful, and frightening, to sit there knowing what even a halfway decent (and/or halfway intelligent) CiC would do--talk about what happened at Fort Hood and get off the stage--and then seeing our POTUS doing something entirely different.
