The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Monday shows that 27% of the nation's voters Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as President. Forty percent (40%) Strongly Disapprove giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -13 (see trends).
Following release of the House health care plan by Speaker Nancy Pelosi, 42% of voters now support the Congressional effort while 54% are opposed.
In October, 37.8% of American adults considered themselves to be Democrats while 31.9% are Republicans. The number of Democrats has been inching up steadily since July.
The Presidential Approval Index is calculated by subtracting the number who Strongly Disapprove from the number who Strongly Approve. It is updated daily at 9:30 a.m. Eastern (sign up for free daily e-mail update). Updates are also available on Twitter and Facebook.
Overall, 46% of voters say they at least somewhat approve of the President's performance. Fifty-two percent (52%) disapprove. Its sometimes easy to get caught up in the day-to-day fluctuations of the tracking poll and miss the longer-term trend. Rasmussen Reports also compiles the data on a month-by-month basis which shows that the Presidents ratings slipped a bit in October after stabilizing in September.

I continue to be amazed at how little real damage Bambi has causedDon't get me wrong - there's still plenty of potential there....what with Health Care, Cap and Tax, and this thing in Copenhagen coming up. There's plenty of opportunity for long-term damage to occur.
I will say, though, that the damage he's done has been reversible so far. And, that things are looking much better than I thought they'd be this time last year.

27% has got to be close to a bottom. Maybe not THE bottom (0%) but as close as we're gonna get. And not even a year into the presidency. This has gone better than I hoped. Our younger conservative relatives and friends have been telling us since this summer, that Rahm 0b0z0 has been losing his independent supporters. They appear to be correct.

Yep. Good analogy. The OBAMANISTAS are like a huge boil in the skin of America.
It needs to be lanced, then we need to squeeze out all the puss and foul smelling rot from inside and wash the former the whole thing down with disenfectant.

-13 is as good a downward trend that theres been!It went down to -14 one day a few months ago, but it has been -10 or worse since October 16, except for two days at -9.

The 52/46 overall and 54/42 0bamacare numbers have to be speaking to the Blue Dog democrats. If the numbers are this nationwide, the numbers in districts that went for McCain have to be crazy against 0bama and 0bamacare. Those Dems have to realize they are committing political suicide to support 0bama.
The 54% against are voters passionate about this issue. Not many of the 46% in favor of this bill will single-issue re-elect a blue dog because of this vote; to them, this issue is part of an overall package. The 54% against? Most WILL likely single-issue oust the blue dogs that vote in favor of this mess.
A blue dog could maybe skate a generic 54/42-46% split. Not this one. Voting for this will single-issue lose a good majority of those 54% of voters and, it will turn a plurality into campaign machines dedicated to the task of ousting that Congress-critter.
It's not just the numbers against this UnConstitutional garbage of a bill; the momentum is against it as well.
(As much as I hate to quote/source him,) I think Dick Morris is right. On Hannity a month or so ago, he predicted that a vote for this mess combined with an absence of jobs in 2010 will make for a 100-seat turnover in the House.
As a personal note to my critter: Chet Edwards - you vote for this, and you lose. If this past August didn't teach you that, then you aren't paying attention. I want your job, Chet. I'm coming for it, Chet. If you vote for this, be very afraid. Not of me, but of the people of TX-17. The sleeping giant is awake. Are you paying attention, Chet? Because. We. Are.
