When you're an MSMer, you're an MSMer all the way--even when faced with facts that might make you like, well, ridiculous . . .
Mike Allen, appearing on Morning Joe, has declared the NY-23rd race a "real toss-up" despite a new poll from a respected organization showing Doug Hoffman with a 17-point lead.
The claim by Allen, Politico's chief political correspondent, was so absurd that, on the spot, host Joe Scarborough offered 3:1 odds to Allen and anyone else wanting to place a few kopeks on Dem Bill Owens.

As we knew, America is CRYING OUT for real conservatives.
If we could sweep them out of the RNC, we could take back this country.
Overall the NY 23rd is a conservative district with a few liberal enclaves(Plattsburgh area).
Hoffman running as a conservative should have a sizable lead regardless of the RINO’s and their incompetence.

Fox News Channel this morning said the Democrat had a “slight lead”.
So who is correct?
I did’nt hear that, they showed the same PP poll. This guy at Politico, what a tool. That site is nothing more than the Daily KOS and the Huffington Post. The Dmeocrats are taking a play from Oprah..”Think it, speak and it will be so....”. That race and Va are goners for the Dems. NJ looks like a nail biter and that Congresssional race in CA looks lost.
I’m curious, when you say the California race looks lost, do you mean a D win? I happen to think the conservative Republican has a real chance, but the polls I’ve seen show him behind by nine points or so. Have you seen something different? My own thought is that a good candidate, low turnout and many angry Tea Partiers will provide an upset.
Well that Ca district is solidly lib, they voted 65-35% Obama and it butts up against Pelosi’s district. Could the (R) win sure, will he, doubtful.
You’re probably right. But consider this: polls are indicating Dems may lag their 08 performance by about twenty points. That gives the Republican a five point win in California. We could also be helped by the presence of three third party candidates, two of whom are just the kind of lefties libs love to vote for. That’s especially so when they think they’ve got the race won for a Democrat anyway. I really think this race will be fairly close.
Based on this its safe to say the only folks who were backing here were the HARD CORE PARTY LOYALISTS, without her in the race they would have stayed home or voted for Hoffman anyway. Now that she’s turncoated, they definitely will not be staying home!
Looks also like some of the 22% of undecideds are begining to break for Hoffman as well.
DC is in for a rude rude awakening, their is a tidal wave of fed up folks out here idiots, we aren’t going to tote your party line nonsense anymore.
Scozzofava certainly brings new meaning to the term “23 skidoo”.
Look at this race as what should have happened in a PRIMARY RUN OFF, but since this candidate was selected behind closed doors without one it happened in the General.
The primaries are where RINOS will die for the 2010 cycle.
First, in the GOP congressional/Senate primaries, if you are CONSERVATIVE REPUBLICAN and are following our orders, you will be supported as an incumbent or as a challenger.
But if you are a RINO, and even as an entrenched officeholder you are going to find yourself faced with opposition in the primary by a CONSERVATIVE. Hundreds of Doug Hoffmans are going to appear and run for office and knock these people out based on a groundswell of popular grassroots anger and support. THEN, in the General, we are going to kick Democrats to kingdom come, all across the land, with slate upon slate of excellent Conservative candidates.
Yep. NY-23 is the template; and Sarah Palin, as well as others, will be our commanders into the field of courageous, victorious battle!
From your keyboard to God’s ears.
I have trouble thinking of Dede as a RINO. As far as I'm concerned she's a Pelosi Democrat.
