Scozzafava Endorses Democrat After Dropping Out of N.Y. Congressional Race
Fox News ^ | 11/01/09

Republican Dede Scozzafava endorsed her former Democratic opponent Sunday in the race for an upstate New York congressional seat, one day after Scozzafava dropped out of the contest.

Scozzafava dropped out after Conservative Party candidate Dough Hoffman experienced a late-in-the-game surge. But on Sunday, Scozzafava backed Democrat Bill Owens -- the announcement was made in a statement send out by the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee.

"I am supporting Bill Owens for Congress and urge you to do the same," she said. "In Bill Owens, I see a sense of duty and integrity that will guide him beyond political partisanship. He will be an independent voice devoted to doing what is right for New York. Bill understands this district and its people, and when he represents us in Congress he will put our interests first."

Right, anyone with a brain knows know what she is now, she’s a carpetbagging bandwagon sellout to whoever has the best offer for her.

In fact the only thing she is, is shallow and disloyal.

“Think Dems took over the GOP in this part of NY to way it is beginning to sound and wonder how many more there are that were one times Dems now pretending to be GOP to get elected.”

This is indeed what is happening in several places. It happens even in Texas. To be more precise, RINO/moderates take over some functions and demand I would urge folks to not throw the baby out with the bathwater. There are good Republicans and there are stinker Republicans. Its up to the primary voting GOP base to discern and separate wheat from chaff.

THIS WAS AND IS REALLY GOOD NEWS! first the GOP ‘base’ rebelled and told the RINOs to STFU. The GOP elites and professionals have been getting the message. the RINOs are getting run off and embarrassed. They are showing their true colors ... we can now expose more of them, and end the charade of liberal Republicans undercutting the Republican agenda. This is going to impact congressional votes.

Just more proof that ugly goes clear to the bone. I wonder how the GOP einsteins who supported her will respond. Probably shrug it off.

Wow, looks like the wolf took off the sheep’s clothing to reveal her true colors.

This is one of the sleaziest things I have ever seen in politics.

I will not surrender the party of Lincoln. I would rather be assassinated.

I stand with you, Pilot. The Republican party, at its heart, is closest to the ideals laid down by the Founders of this nation. It should never be abandoned, no more than we would abandon our beloved country itself.

Its just taking the RNC longer than we like to get it. The Republican Party is worth fighting for,the sad truth is though they have to be waterboarded more often than not to get it.

"I wonder how many RINO’s are really just leftists who have purposely infiltrated the Republican party?"

There are many. I've long suspected that many so-called RINOS are actually leftist moles sent to slowly change the character of what was once a conservative Republican party. It started as soon after Reagan was elected. Most people don't realize how much the leftist media and Democrats hate Reagan and conservative philosophy.

On "This Week with George Stephanopoulos", the roundtable discussion was called "Civil War within the GOP".

Hogwash - We are just taking out the garbage. There is no civil war when these interlopers aren't even real Republicans enough to endorse Republicans in general elections... they are RINO careerist self-centered snobs.

>>People have been positing that operationally there is little difference between Republicans and Democrats, that they are in reality two heads of the same organization; I’m inclined to agree.<<

This certainly supports that.

Exactly. It may not be a perfectly smooth road for the party to get back to its conservative roots but we will drag them there kicking, screaming and torturing them all the way if need be.

This is what moderate and liberal republicans do. They would rather see democrats win than any hated conservative.

You know, you are right. This act is emblematic of the whole GOP problem. It represents the last fifty years of party lameness in one clear moment. The democrats are rat-bastards and traitors but god knows how we have survived the republicans.
