It was in the 40s or 50s and rained all day, here. We went over to the Walkers’ to pick up a book and DVD that Mr. Walker is loaning to Tom, and they have a cool office-schoolroom setup with modular work areas and storage spaces for Mr. Walker and all the older children. They got the parts from Ikea and built it themselves.

Ash is unhappy about the rain.

What is the cayenne for, specifically? I take it in capsules for bleeding issues in some phases of life.

It constricts the blood vessels wherever there is “open” bleeding.

My best friend’s mother took it in capsule form every day of her life. I hate to say...it doesn’t help wrinkles...

Chili powder will do the same thing, but cayenne is more potent and therefore, more effective.

My skin is holding up well, for 43. It’s the indoor lifestyle, I’m sure, and not smoking.

James chewed a couple of the cayenne capsules once. That was a sad scene. “James hurt himself. He needs a Band-Aid!” (It was during his invisible-brother period.)

My mother was very vain, but poor. She resorted to home remedies to keep the wrinkles away. And this works, for sure!! She kept a small container in the fridge door that had egg white in it.

Each time she washed her face, she would apply egg white to it (not whipped) then lie down for 15 minutes. No phone calls, no kids, no nuthin’ for that 15 minutes while the egg white and gravity did their work.

It’s how I learned to talk through my teeth...;o]

I am irreplaceable, for good or bad, by intent. Sure, you could parcel my duties out across a bunch of folks but you'd lose the marketable synergies of having The Expert (I was even referred to by my industry moniker in a corporate-internal teleconference today).

The job security is A Very Good Thing, and what I offer can be traded -- though I think I am already in "the best of all possible worlds."

Promotion? There's really nowhere else I want to go in such a large corporation; my position doesn't fit very well in any org chart and any way "up" is a long-term headache (called "manager").

They're still trying to figure out how to best use what I offer, while I'm shifting my offerings to avoid the most burdened roles. Got a wee bit trapped by this one but I am achieving the valued position of "Subject Matter Expert" (SME) and though I didn't ask for it I will have more "Subject Matter" to add. I've seen it before: when these guys retire, the loss is felt.

If you use chili powder and cold water, it’s not too bad if you swallow it quickly. If you use cayenne and cold water, it doesn’t matter how quickly...follow it with LOTS of water! LOL!

If you can do it, sion (and it looks like you CAN!) then go for it! I never found a job that could utilize what I had to offer in the way that would suit us all.

My supervisors were afraid I was after their jobs and tried to force me out of every job I ever had.

I didn’t want their jobs. I wanted to be their BOSS!!! LOL!

Good luck with what you are doing. I know you enjoy it, and therefore, you ARE irreplaceable!

43? I remember 43. The year they founded Victoria, up north.

That's why they put them in gelatin capsules. The body gets the same effect, but the mouth and throat don't have to endure the trial by fire!

I use cayenne ... in capsules.

"Spice up your life, Bob! Take it naked!"

I don't see how that would make a difference, unless my daughter happened to enter the kitchen while I was taking my pills.

Poor child could be scarred for life.

One reason I decided against joining the Moonies.

I didn’t want the whole world to know where my birthmark is.
