That pretty much means they’ll endorse and donate to somebody who merely pays lip service to the Second Amendment.

They do keep a scorecard on politicians, but I’ve felt before they’ve endorsed the wrong candidate...they dislike 3rd parties and favor incumbents, too...even if the challenger might actually be more pro-gun sometimes. Hedging their bets.

I suspect the endorsement went out before they realized Hoffman was going to be a serious contender.

What no one here is mentioning is that the Democrat is outraising either of these candidates.

I just spoke to NRA and this is what I was told: Hoffman has an NRA “letter of support”, but no endorsement because they can only endorse based on a candidates votes after election. Based on their interview with Hoffman, they have issued a “letter of support”. Scozzafaza has an excellent record by the NRA, even if she has a lousy record elsewhere. So she has an endorsement.

with her as kind of a nasty afterthought pulling low double digits.

I hope for the RNCs sake she finishes in the low SINGLE digits. They can't wake up and smell the coffee if they have their heads up their backsides.

So the NRA is endorsing a Liberal over a Conservative...

As much as you and I may be members, they are also in a sense "K"-Street types, i.e. PAC's....

They would hate a Hoffman or a Palin...

Why? they know a flat or fair tax will ruin their Bordello and the games that go on within it on the Potomac.

They are both too much of a threat...

If that is the case, give me the Flat Tax baby...

"I give up. I’ve tried a dozen time in the last four days to donate and sent his web site the third email telling them neither of my perfectly good cards will work. They need to fix thier web site."

I had trouble with the website a few days ago too. The donation button gave me a security alert and the main phone number gave me a fax line. I think they're a little overwhelmed. I called a regional office, and they had someone call me back. I took care of it via credit card over the phone. They were very nice, and very grateful. Apparently the donation function has been giving some people trouble. I wasn't the only one reporting it.

The NRA endorsed Howard Dean all of those years in Vermont too. They endorse over 1 issue alone.

The NRA endorses whoever is right on the gun issue and Scozzafava is, but with her history of waffling and leftist affiliation she’s not a good bet in the future.

For about 5 days now someone who can’t pronounce our name has been calling. I usually just hang up. Today I said who are you and why do you keep calling? She said she was calling for Newt Gingrich the American something. I said I am not interested in a thing he has to say since he has endorsed SCOZZAFAVA. I don’t think they will call anymore.

American Solutions is Newt’s PAC, I believe. A donation to it would go to support Scozzafava, I guess.

The NRA (which stands for National Rifle Association, not National Republican Association or National conseRvative Association) is endorsing the candidate with the actual pro-gun voting record.

I believe we should mount an email campaign to send Scozzafava letters insisting that she step down - bow out as she is the spoiler in the race...

If Hoffman does not win the special election. I hope he runs again in 2010 (where he’ll be better organized and have even more time to fundraise and gain exposure. Perhaps a visit by Sarah).

I already donated as soon as Palin endorsed him.

Sorry to tell you — THIS IS NEW YORK, he’s still not going to win the general elections. Anyone who says he will do not know the general mentality of New Yorkers.

This is a place where tax cheats like Charles Rangel has his position for life (even if there were a video of him murdering someone).
