Demi Moore probably also married Ashton Kutcher to keep her career fresh—that didn’t help either. With Bruce Willis as her ex, she probably isn’t hurting for $$. Like professsional athletes, actors/actresses need to realize that their careers likely have a short shelf life and prepare accordingly. If you don’t, you’re screwed. You can’t exactly work in a regular job after being a A/B list celebrity. They might end up like Margot Kidder, who was found naked and mumbling incoherently in the bushes a few years back.
The situation in the film in question was anything but ‘normal’. It didn’t normalize this activity any more than Lolita did.

I remember Kathleen Turner's remarks on going from being cast as the sexy leading lady, to being cast as the mom. She embraced the change - knowing she wouldn't be the sexy lead forever.
It is something of a shame that Hollywood thinks nothing of casting a 50 year old leading man and a 30 year old leading lady - in parts that make NO mention or issue of the age difference. The worst is Woody Allen who plays himself, except neither rich nor famous - but casts women like Tiffany Amber Therese as his supposed love interest.
Among Hollywood producers there may well be the rampant delusion that 20 year younger super hot women love diminutive balding older Jewish men, but they are only fooling themselves.
Pedophilia will never be normal. The purpose is desensitization, then acceptance. To judge by your posts, the plan is working very well.
