The "Oathkeepers" Need to Be Put in Check - Now (They (Dems) Are Getting Nervous)

What is on appearances possibly just another right wing publicity stunt is actually something that law enforcement and military commanders need to notice and to put in check. The "Oathkeepers" are a group supposedly dedicated to keeping the "Oath" to protect the Constitution. Fact is, they already took that oath, This new thing is an attempt to rile up disdain for the Obama Administration, masquerading as concern for American freedom.
Who are the "Oathkeepers?" Groups of law enforcement and military personnel who swear a new oath of allegiance to ideals put forth by the group, not by consent of the governed or as proscribed by the Constitution these "patriots" claim to be defending. Need convincing that they aren't just paramilitary malcontents who happen to be wearing uniforms? Look at their website.
On www.oathkeepers.org they list ten "Orders we will not obey" which include some admirable ideals. That some of what they espouse is admirable isn't in question. Of course every soldier has the obligation to fight orders which, for example, might constitute a war crime. Where the problems lie are with the motivations and perceptions of their place.
Look around the Oathkeepers site more and some troubling things show themselves. They say "We are not advocating violence" yet that is exactly the subtext of what is on the site. References aren't made to some possible threat to the Constitution in the future, but to the sitting government and their Commander in Chief, President Barack Obama.
The Oathkeepers are nothing more than an anti-Obama paramilitary group. And what they are doing should be reprimanded by their chain of command. To pledge to willfully obey orders is in direct conflict with the Uniform Code of Military Justice, or UCMJ. Some of what they suggest sounds like conspiracy to commit sedition.

I just hope they (the liberals) don't do something really stupid. Not that I particularly mind civil war and the full restoration of Constitutional principles. If that is what is needed I'll put my hand to the oar along with everybody else. It's just a pity such a lesson would become necessary.

Im a little bit more concerned about some (not all) local police forces.
That's why I hated to see our small 5 man police force go. We lost 5 good men who knew everyone and mostly lived here. In return we got expensive county police coverage with officers who come and go and have no connection to the community. I have no doubt that many of them are good men but they aren't neighbors.

The Oathkeepers are nothing more than an anti-Obama paramilitary group. Much like the Founding Fathers were nothing more than an anti-monarchy paramilitary group.

Outskirts Press?
Is that a “self-publishing” company.
In other words — is this guy paying them to publish his book?

Groups of law enforcement and military personnel who swear a new oath of allegiance to ideals put forth by the group, not by consent of the governed or as proscribed by the Constitution I think it is that part, 'consent of the governed' where we may be running into a problem. A little too much happening in Washington these days that is clearly against the consent of the 'governed'.

This cop will stand by his oath. I’d estimate that it’s more like 80/20 on the split between good and bad, based on the cops that I know. And as for the 20% - they aren’t worth much anyway...

“...a place for an old sub sailor in that outfit?......Just wondering if theyd have a need.”
Very poignant thought.....the thought of a large percentage of 25 million Veterans joining this group scares the crap out of the lefties, which is why articles such as this one are being written.....to pretend it is some sort of crazed militia, when it is in fact people who took an Oath such as our Oath of enlistment....I, for one, never renounced mine!

Rain, isn’t it nice to get rain in “West” Texas? We have had a day of nice slow rain. Will be just the thing to get ready to plan wheat.
“cross the Rubicon”? Certainly. Whatever it takes.

Yes, Outskirts Press is a self-publishing company.
Says something about the author, doesn’t it?
