Remember the 6-year rule, the point at which many Conservative Republicans get sucked and corrupted into the DC morass. Thad surpassed 6 years in January this year.
True, but the working families party could have left their line blank. They obviously did not find her positions too objectionable.

As for her voting record, I checked her rating and voting record on conservative issues, and she got a 15% score from the Conservative Party of New York. 46 New York Democrats in the Assembly voted more conservative than Scozzafava. That record doesn’t seem consistent with what this district has elected in the past. Their last congressman, John McHugh, had a 71.55% lifetime rating from the American Conservative Union and an 82% cumulative rating from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. With that record, he carried this district with 65% of the vote last year.

Steele was pretty much out of the loop on this candidate. The candidate was selected by the county chairs up in this district in New York.

Once the locals made their selection, it went to the RCCC. Pete Sessions has said that his staffers didn’t properly vet the candidate before the RCCC signed off on supporting her. If staffers had that big of an influence on this decision, there are serious management problems that need to be addressed. Sessions, Hensarling and the whole RCCC are ultimately responsible for this mess.
They have enlisted at least 17 House members, plus Susan Collins from the Senate to support Scozzafava. All of these need to be removed, preferably in the primaries next year. They include Boehner, Cantor, Sessions, Hensarling, Brown-Waite and McCotter.

I have lost a LOT of respect for Rep McCotter.
I need to email Greg Gutfeld and ask him to ask McCotter on the next “Red Eye” that McCotter appears on.
