From the you cant make this up file: The person who called the cops on Weekly Standard reporter John McCormack was none other than Scozzafavas husband, Ron MacDougall, a leading labor official in upstate New York.
Keep in mind that before Scozzafava won the Republican nomination, MacDougall reportedly spoke with several Democratic officials in the district to see if they would be interested in supporting her for Congress if she switched parties.
The full story, from the Watertown Times:
The husband of the Republican candidate in the 23rd Congressional District race on Monday night called police to a Lewis County Republican dinner after feeling uncomfortable with a reporter there.
Ronald P. McDougall, shortly before 9 p.m., called county dispatchers from the Lowville Elks Lodge on Shady Avenue to request patrol for a nuisance report and hung up, according to a dispatch report of the incident. Upon a call back from dispatchers, Mr. McDougall identified himself and suggested the media was too close to his wife state Assemblywoman Dierdre K. Scozzafava, R-Gouverneur and that he was uncomfortable with a reporter.
I think he was just pressing, village Police Chief Eric F. Fredenburg said of John McCormack, deputy online editor of the Weekly Standard, a conservative magazine.
Mr. Villanti said a police officer did come into the Elks Lodge after the event looking for a Mr. McDonald, but it never connected that she was seeking Mr. McDougall.
I thought someone had played some sort of dumb joke, he said.
So her husband was reportedly feeling people out about our leftist GOP candidate switching parties, eh?
My apologies to all the decent Scozzofavas in the world, but,
her husband’s last name is MacDougall?? And she thought it was wise to keep Scozzafava? It takes all kinds, I suppose.
Scumbag, the more I hear about her and now her husband the more I dislike what the New York Rinos are doing, and will work overtime to defeat them.
That's what struck me about the story too.
Exactly who are the bright bulbs in the Republican Party “selection committee” who selected this evil woman to represent the Republican Party in this election?
“the Lowville Elks Lodge on Shady Avenue?”
I find that quite funny!
Cantor is no liberal.
This pick on the part of the GOP just gets better and better.
Totally off subject, I like the way you did your reply!
Gee, here’s a revelation: New York State and all within it BLOW! Who cares what this nasty obese cow says. She looks like she’s spent a lifetime puching sows out of the trough so she could chow down! I hope she explodes!
Soap opera bump...
