So instead of amending the Constitution, they’ll just ignore it.

Sigh. It’s just so much easier that way.

That's the problem with Congress generally ... Cong. Jones or Sen. Smith proposes some bill which is purported to solve all the problems of the universe. Debate ensues: whether it's a good idea, whether it will do any or all of what it's supposed to do, what it will cost, etc.

Nobody EVER asks "do we even have the authority to do this?"

There has been a concerted effort since 2000 to try and take the 'natural born' out of the requirements. The effort has been from both "D" and "R" sources. But the most extensive effort was from democrat sources in 2004. It is therefore ironic that Leahy held Senate Judiciary Committee hearings to examine McCain's status, making the point that McCain was born of two American citizen parents and on American soil in the canal zone, so he fit natural born status!

Astonishingly, Obama signed onto the senate resolution yet he cannot fit what Leahy stated and still the democrap party put Obama up for their nominee because of his racial leverage.

Democrats do not have any reverence for the Constitution, it is an impediment, or was, before they abrogated the contract as they build the federal oligarchical rule in America.

Why not? It's worked so far.
