Che Guevara: Assassin, Coward, Imbecile

Humberto Fontova Thursday, October 8, 2009

“SENTENCE first – VERDICT afterwards,” said the Queen. “Nonsense!” said Alice loudly. “Off with her head!” the Queen shouted at the top of her voice. – Alice In Wonderland

They say Lewis Carroll was a serious dope fiend, his mind totally scrambled on opium, when he concocted “Alice in Wonderland.” A place where the sentence comes first and the verdict afterward? Where people who protest the madness are sentenced to death themselves? What lunacy!

If only Carroll had lived a bit longer. If only he’d visited Cuba in 1959 when every paper from the New York Times to the London Observer – when every pundit from Walter Lippman to Ed Murrow, every author from Jean Paul Sartre to Norman Mailer, every TV host from Jack Paar to Ed Sullivan were touting the judicial outrages, mass larceny and firing-squad orgies instituted by Fidel Castro and Che Guevara as the most glorious events since VJ day.

“To send men to the firing squad, judicial proof is unnecessary,” Carroll would have heard from the chief executioner, named Ernesto “Che” Guevara. “These procedures are an archaic bourgeois detail. This is a revolution! And a revolutionary must become a cold killing machine motivated by pure hate. We must create the pedagogy of the paredon (The Wall)!”

For the first year of Castro’s glorious revolution Che Guevara was his main executioner—a combination Beria and Himmler, with a major exception: Che’s slaughter of (bound and gagged) Cubans (Che was himself an Argentine) exceeded Heinrich Himmler’s prewar slaughter of Germans—to scale, that is.

I’m sick of using the word coward to describe bullies. They aren’t cowards. Surely, they hastle the weak and avoid the strong, but who wouldn’t? What, you have to lose all prudence to be courageous?

No, bullies aren’t cowards. It takes a certain amount of courage to murder people and/or enter combat, even when you’re on the bad side.

The real reason the Soviets may have pulled the missiles out o Cuba may have not been due to JFK’s blockade. It has been reported that Che Guevara wanted to take control of the missiles to launch a strike at the United States. Kruschev considered this extreme madness (hey, I’m not supporting Nikita here, he knew that the USSR would be devastated), and agreed with JFK to remove the missiles. While the Soviets were using the missiles in Cuba for “leverage”, that threshold was a line they hesitated to cross (although later in the eighties they were considering to cross that threshold until Colonel Kuklinski leaked the Warsaw Pact warplan to the CIA).

From MSNBC Hardball with Chris Matthews (transcript)
March. 21, 2006:

KRISTINN, FREEREPUBLIC.COM: We have kids that wear Che Guevara shirts here in the United States.

MATTHEWS: Yes, but they're kind of cute at this point, aren't they? They're not about somebody out to get us now. I think there's a difference. I mean, that's kind of camp almost, isn't it?...is Che Guevara the symbol of hate in the United States anymore?

KRISTINN: Yes.

MATTHEWS: I don't think so. I mean, a lot of our kids wear them. I see kids wearing them all the time, even my kids wear them. It's like a Robert Marley T-shirt at this point.

Che flag sends 'disturbing' message about Obama
Candidate attracts 'people who think mass murderers are romantic revolutionaries'

February 13, 2008
© 2008 WorldNetDaily

The Fox TV affiliate in Houston has captured images of a volunteer in a campaign office for Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama working in front of a flag featuring the image of Che Guevara, the South American revolutionary who became Fidel Castro's executioner after the communist takeover in Cuba.

And while the Obama campaign has issued a statement placing a modest distance between the campaign and its "volunteers," the issue of such an image on display in an office operating on behalf of a man hoping to be commander in chief of the world's last remaining superpower is raising alarms.

Even Obama supporters have been forced into corners because of the issue, with one likening the Texas state Republican Party to Guevara, to whom have been attributed hundreds of executions of anti-Castro leaders.

Under the heading "Barack Guevara," Investor's Business Daily raised some of the more pointed questions, to which the campaign responded only with a statement: "The office featured in this video is funded by volunteers of the Barack Obama Campaign and is not an official headquarters for his campaign. ..."

Russian nuclear bombers in Cuba?
July 23, 2008

The media has been abuzz today at the prospect of Russian nuclear bombers being stationed in Cuba if the US goes ahead with plans for missile defense bases in Eastern Europe.

The story has riled the US enough that a US general has been wheeled out to tell the world’s press that any Russian attempt to build another nuclear base in Cuba would cross US “red line”.

The story broke earlier this week, when Russian newspaper Izvestia quoted an un-named source from within the Russian military. He told the Russian daily:

“While they are deploying the missile shield in Poland and the Czech Republic, our strategic bombers will already be landing in Cuba.”

The quote hasn’t been independently confirmed, but the Russian Defense Ministry added fuel to the fire when they refused to comment on the story.

The prospect of Russian nuclear forces being stationed in Cuba - which is, after all, only 90 miles from the US coast - would bring back some rather unpleasant memories for the US of the Cuban Missile Crisis of 1962, where the Soviet Union under Nikita Kruschev launched an audacious and foolhardy bid to station nuclear missiles on the Caribbean island.

Russia to help Cuba modernize weaponry, train military
September 18, 2009

HAVANA, September 18 (RIA Novosti) - Modernization of the Soviet-made military equipment and training of Cuban military personnel will be the focus of Russian-Cuban military cooperation in the near future, the chief of the Russian General Staff said on Friday. Gen. Nikolai Makarov arrived on a working visit to Cuba on Monday, met with Cuban President Raul Castro and the country's military leadership, and visited a number of military installations.

"During the Soviet era we delivered a large number of military equipment to Cuba, and after all these years most of this weaponry has become obsolete and needs repairs," Makarov said.

"We inspected the condition of this equipment, and outlined the measures to be taken to maintain the defense capability of this country...I think a lot of work needs to be done in this respect, and I hope we will be able to accomplish this task," the general said.

Makarov said the Cuban request for assistance with training of military personnel will also be fully satisfied.

Although the Cuban leadership has repeatedly said it has no intention of resuming military cooperation with Russia after the surprise closure of the Russian electronic listening post in Lourdes in 2001, bilateral military ties seem to have been improving following the visit of Russian Security Council chief Nikolai Patrushev and Russian Deputy Prime Minister Igor Sechin to Cuba in July last year.

A group of Russian warships, led by the Admiral Chabanenko destroyer visited Cuba in December last year during a Caribbean tour.

Che Guevara: Assassin, Coward, Imbecile

I'd bet good money that Guevara had several sexually transmitted diseases at the time of his long overdue execution.

Yeah, man, like that's how he held on to the Christ Church Mathematical Lectureship at Oxford for 26 years. By all that heavy drug use that, like, totally scrambled his, you know, brain.

FTA: "Che Guevara was monumentally vain and epically stupid. He was shallow, boorish, cruel and cowardly. He was full of himself, a consummate fraud and an intellectual vacuum. He was intoxicated with a few vapid slogans, spoke in clichés and was a glutton for publicity."

Fontova described Obama perfectly.

Well, Che may have had "courage" in some respects. However, it did not take courage for him to point a pistol at the heads of shackled men and pull the trigger.

Also, he attempted to bargain for his life when he had been captured by the Bolivians.

Courageous? Not so much.

“Also, he attempted to bargain for his life when he had been captured by the Bolivians.”

Okay, I wouldn’t call it courageous, but it’s also not cowardly. There is ground between heroism and cowardice, lest we forget. We don’t expect our soldiers to go around with an Alamo mindset, for instance.

The Soviets pulled theie missiles out of Cuba when Kennedy agreed to pull our missiles out of Turkey. Our media didn't report this. It preferred to depict Kennedy as having stared down the Russians and making them blink. Not hardly.
