Few minutes ago I came back from local Safeway.I had to buy Robitussin for my son.The cashier asked me for ID.He told me that Safeway does it at the government request.Something new???
I know it’s been going on for a few years with Sudafed and other products with ephedrine and pseudoephedrine in them.
You have to show ID every time you buy Musinex - D an allergy and cold medication.
You don’t have to show ID to vote, though.
You must not be an illegal alien......
I think it has something to do with people making meth out of it or something. It has to do with making some kind of drug. I had to get some cold medicine this weekend and also had to show my ID.
You makin’ some Meth?
You can use Robotussin to get high, if you take enough of it. I knew kids in college who would swig an entire bottle and go on a “Robo trip”. It’s apparently a little like quaaludes, but easier to get your hands on if you’re drunk, bored, young, and stupid.
I use to buy Robitussin (CF and DM) almost by the gallon, but not in over 5 years in the US.
Sounds strange, but in the new Obammieland, nothing would surprise me.
But, but, but... what about the POOR people?!
You know, those that would be disenfranchised if they had to show an ID to vote?!
The humanity!
I got Sudafed 2 days ago at the same place. No ID.
Yep...trying to keep the kids from making meth. The Navy Exchanges do the same thing and keep a count of how much cough medicine and others like Niquil. Nanny State in full force. Too bad some parents can’t control the kids though...
OK
I drink vodka.:-)))
Not new. A number of what was previously over the counter like cough medicines are now behind the counter. Not sure about needing ID — that might be new.
It’s been done here in southern KY for a couple of years. It is a main ingredient in meth...so as usual, the few idiots in the world make things inconvenient for the rest of us.
You were trying to buy the Robitussin that contains pseudoephedrine. Anything with that ingredient has to be sold behind the counter now, because that ingredient can be used to make methadrine, although I would think that the difficulty of extracting the pseudoephedrine from Robitussin would make it a very unlikely prospect for toothless yokels trying to cook up their own.
Because of the regulations, Sudafed makes pseudopedrine-free versions of most of its products. Those are still freely available from the shelves.
I’m 49 years of age,but look like 48.;-))
The essence of of that ideology that is ironically named “liberalism”:
Someone craps their pants and we ALL have to wear diapers.
I wonder if when dems cheat they don't just add votes to the dem side, but also add votes to our side to elect the less popular Republicans...
