Gee Whoopie,

Rape is a binary action.

The little girl was either raped or not.

End of discussion.

But, statutory rape or using the “date rape” drugs are as bad as physical forcible rape. So it’s still unclear to me why Whoopi would have said what she said in the first place. And in fact, he drugged her and forced himself on her. The statutory rape charge pending was part of a plea bargain, which he reneged on when he fled the country.

Nobody is talking much about how he ran away to avoid justice. Those charges, legally speaking, are very serious charges too.

Rape is a binary action.

That used to be true, but modernists, and in particular modern feminists, have turned rape into a fluid concept.

Go to a party with the absolute intention of getting drunk and high and hooking up with some guy? Don't worry, if it turns out it wasn't a guy you are particularly enamoured of, you can claim rape the next day.

A soon to be ex-boyfriend pitches some heavy woo, makes you forget about breaking up with him, and gets you back in the sack but 3 days later he misses a lunch and you remember why you wanted to dump him? Break up with him and then claim it was rape.

We have taken a huge step backwards in our country by letting hard fast rules run roughshod over common sense.

Forcible rape is clearly forcible rape. Statutory rape may or may not be as bad as forcible rape depending upon the actual circumstances.

A 19 year old college freshman who has sex with his 16 year old girlfriend can be charged with statutory rape in some states (and in the past having to face her father).

But a circumstance like that is clearly different from a middle aged man getting a 13 year old girl drunk and forcing himself on her.

This was "rape rape", and not a teenager caught by the letter of the law. And for this "rape rape" he needs to go to "prison prison".
