For the 10th Amendment Division’s perusal...
If this health care s**t passes then TX and others have said they might say know and go tenth.
The time for the states to step in is now. The Fed govt, judiciary and the rest of the country is SO corrupt. Time to reboot before it is too late.

“Secessionist movement under way in Texas”
Ive been waiting and counting on Texas to do this!
They wisely had this option written into their Constitution in the very beginning.
But we need more states to declare, at least, States Rights - as they are doing one by one...

Once 30 have done this - they can stop the FEderal Govt in its tracks and put it back to its narrow field of rights as outlined in the Constitution.
I hope they hurry up, as I doubt Texas will be able to find room for all us that will pack our bags and head for the Lone Star State. This rally aught to make some good headlines - not that most of the media will cover it. Thats okay. If FOX does, well, theyve got the most viewers, by far.
Never seen the like of any of this in my lifetime - and I’ve been around a bit ;o)
It’s gonna be a race.
Go Texas!
Yeah, gotta wonder just where the "tipping point" is. But what with the feral government's moves under odinga and what he/they have planned for us will certainly take us well beyond any hypothetical tipping point. If we're able somehow to stop it now, one has to wonder how long it would be before the same plan under different players would reappear. This foolishness has to be killed not just stopped IMHO.
I'd heard that, but it seems to me there was already another conservative player in the running but don't recall right off hand who it may have been. The primary might be fun, eh?
There has been secessionist talk in Texas since, well, since Texas joined the union. It sortof ebbs and flows with the times. I've heard Glenn Beck comment a number of times he would like to see Texas take the lead on any confrontation with the federales. And I would agree there aren't a lot of other States that could have same impact as Texas thumbing it's nose towards DC. JMO, but I think things would have to get a LOT worse before Texans and Texas would jump ship, human nature being what it is. That is, nobody wants to believe things are really as bad as they appear...
It really is time to “form a more perfect union”. We already have the Constitution written—so check that one off the list.
I agree - the states MUST step in to stop this out of control corrupt federal government. If they don’t do it now my guess is that they will have to start dealing with their own individual state problems eventually in regards to the Federal government overstepping even more boundaries...
I would totally agree that it should be Texas taking the lead as they have the most history and rights in relation to the FEDS. Texas is the “expert”, if you will. I also believe that it would definitely evoke a certain “Spirit of the People” response as well... I would only hope those states that decided to do this would let some of us in, if and when the stuff comes down...
I have started to use the argument that if the states are going to subject themselves to the federal government, then there is no need for local politicians. Secondly, I ask the how does it feel being a paid employee of the federal government. Now THAT gets their attention!
After all, if Washington is going to tell them what to do, how to do it, where to do it and when, local politicians are another waste of taxpayer money.
Good article. Nice to see some realism regarding the Constitution.
Incidentally, I believe when Obama referred to "negative" rights, he was using the term in the same way "negative" assurances is used here. He wasn't saying "negative", meaning bad. He was simply saying they are rights defining what the gubmint can't do. The term "negative" rights is entirely appropriate. People like Limbaugh sound like dopes when they fail to grasp this usage.
That said, negative rights are fine. I like them better than positive rights when it comes to gubmint. But the term is correct.
The Tenth Amendment says absolutely nothing about states’ rights.
That’s a very good essay. Thanks for posting and pinging.
