Cops: Woman Eats Ex's Goldfish After Spat
Fight over jewelry leads to untimely demise in frying pan for seven pet fish
Sept . 30, 2009
PASADENA, Texas - Authorities say a Houston-area woman who was burned up at her former common-law husband fried their pet goldfish and ate some of them.
Pasadena police say it's a civil matter and no charges will be filed. The seven goldfish were purchased together by the couple during happier times.
Police spokesman Vance Mitchell says the man reported on Saturday that the woman took the goldfish from his apartment.

Police found trace amounts of buttermilk and flour at the crime scene and she’s since been charged with battery. Her attorney says cops are on a fishing expedition and she will be found not gill-ty.

Usually it’s the guy that hurts or kills the pets in such a situation. Certainly it’s not beyond the ability of women to do it, probably underreported anyway. She’s lucky they weren’t cats or dogs or higher order animals, she’d be up on charges.
People who kill the pets of others to get back at other people are extremely sick and pathetic.
