It points to the exact reason these girls dress like this. They not only do NOT want to be in the picture, they do NOT want to be the children of the Prime Minister.

My best friend in school was a ‘punk’ with the chains, mohawk, crazy makeup, etc... The weird part is that she didn’t want to be seen. Yes, doesn’t that sound weird? Dress ridiculous that makes you stand out among ANY crowd so that they don’t see YOU. They see the chains, the crazy makeup, the ridiculous clothes, ridiculous hair, but not YOU.

I don’t know if that makes sense, but my friend has agreed that it is exactly right, even though she didn’t understand it at the time.

That makes sense. Rebellion. If my kids were going to go meet the President, I’d darn sure make them wear “business like” attire (for teens).

Of course it makes sense. It's like hiding behind a mask, wearing your Halloween costume year round.
