The American military will never let it happen.

If given the orders to install Manuel Zelaya as dictator for life in Honduras, would the US Military let that happen? Would they obey the orders of Obama to overthrow the constitutional government of Honduras and install Zelaya or would they remove Obama?

Probably.

They swear an allegiance to the constitution and to protect the country from enemies foreign and domestic. Honduras would not be a threat to our constitution.

I think they would do it.

That sort of an order would be harder to avoid. The military can delay carrying out an order they don't like, but they will eventually have to do it. Intervention in Honduras is not time sensitive. Delaying it for a few days or even a couple of weeks doesn't change the situation.

In contrast delaying the launch of fighters by 5 minutes can be enough to prevent an interception. Especially if the AWACAS crew give an intercept vector as few as 3 degrees off or the interceptor pilots get "Lost".

It is easy to court marshal a general for something he did. It is difficult to court marshal someone for something that he didn't do, especially if he has a plausible excuse.
