According to Lifesitenews.com, GOP Chairman Michael Steele gave an interview to the Columbus Dispatch stating he absolutely believes that there is room in the GOP for a Pro-Abortion Candidate.
Steve Silver who is running for Ohios 15th District is a Pro-Abortion Candidate for congress and according to the GOP, apparently favored to win the Republican Nomination in that district. Steele on Thursday the 17th after a rally against Obamas health care plan gave a brief interview to the Dispatch which supported the idea that local constituencies, at the state level, should decide if Pro-Abortion beliefs were electable qualities; local communities should decide the rights of the unborn. While states rights are indeed important in the argument for or against abortion, it is still a long held position of the grassroots political right that abortion is something that should only happen when the life of the mother is threatened. Steel appears to be leading the Party in a very different direction.

And people are screeching about Beck equating the republicans and democrats. LOL
Beck is RIGHT about this.
He is likely right about McCain as well given the fact that McLame has expressed support since for some of this crap!
“DC isn’t listening to us apparently!”
Of course they’re not. The RNC would rather endorse pro-abortion candidates and flip-flopper-RINOs like Mitt Romney, rather than freedom-loving CONSERVATIVES like Sarah Palin!
Hopeless. This is hopeless. The GOP is dead.
Tyrants don’t listen they RULE.
Goodbye freedom.
Also in the article:
“Almost as disturbing is another trend.
That primary election in Ohio is set to take place in May of 2010. Doesnt it seem a bit early to be cherry picking candidates for a primary election that is still over 7 months away? What happened to voters choosing their candidates? Apparently Steele hasnt gotten the memo the grass roots right sent on September 12th.”
The whole article is well worth the read. Worth some study, in fact.
Thank you! :)
This is sickening. For those of us who simply CANNOT (due to religious and moral ethics) vote for an abortionist - who do we now vote for???? Who represents US? I hate to say it, but this is going to start up the 3rd party stuff again and I can’t say I blame them!
WTF? No wai! Where did you find that? I would LOVE to read up on this, give me more ammo to be honest!
I swear I am going to have to drop my Republican membership. This just burns my sit down spot. I have no time for whimps, cowards or pro-abortionists when it comes to giving my time, money or vote. Just sayin’.
We just have to look more closely at the candidates running, and NOT automatically support the bugger the GOP wonks support!
Just have to look at all the republican candidates running and NOT just support whomever the GOP is peddling. There ARE alternatives, but they don’t get the press because the GOP isn’t backing THEM. They ARE out there though! Thats how we take back OUR party!
Welcome to FreeRepublic - love your screen name.
Surprise, surprise...pro abortion, pro amnesty...the GOP isn’t interested in following it’s own stated principals.
From the GOP platform:
ABORTION
Maintaining The Sanctity and Dignity of Human Life
Faithful to the first guarantee of the Declaration of Independence, we assert the inherent dignity and sanctity of all human life and affirm that the unborn child has a fundamental individual right to life which cannot be infringed
AMNESTY
The rule of law means guaranteeing to law enforcement the tools and coordination to deport criminal aliens without delay and correcting court decisions that have made deportation so difficult. It means enforcing the law against those who overstay their visas, rather than letting millions flout the generosity that gave them temporary entry. It means imposing maximum penalties on those who smuggle illegal aliens into the U.S., both for their lawbreaking and for their cruel exploitation. It means requiring cooperation among federal, state and local law enforcement and real consequences, including the denial of federal funds, for self-described sanctuary cities, which stand in open defiance of the federal and state statutes that expressly prohibit such sanctuary policies, and which endanger the lives of U.S. citizens. It does not mean driver’s licenses for illegal aliens, nor does it mean that states should be allowed to flout the federal law barring them from giving in-state tuition rates to illegal aliens, nor does it mean that illegal aliens should receive social security benefits, or other public benefits, except as provided by federal law.
We oppose amnesty. The rule of law suffers if government policies encourage or reward illegal activity. The American people’s rejection of en masse legalizations is especially appropriate given the federal government’s past failures to enforce the law.
I’m backing Tim Walberg for congress. The GOP threw him overboard last time around and got us a Nelosi finger puppet.
And I’ll be dam**d if I will wate my vote on a stinking republican moderate. Those dirtbags are the ones that gave us OBAMA .. can’t get any worse. Why vote spineless, squishy republicans ... may as well get a democrat .. it is what we get UNLESS idiots don’t wake up and continue to eat the excrement sandwich the republicans send us.
Scream at me .. waste your time ... YOU KNOW whou you are. Keep voting Little “r’s” and keep getting what is sending us to socialism.
Third party is the ONLY option now .... JUST say NO to RINO’s The little idiot republicans have no desire to turn conservative.
