Yes, it is a HUGE deal, they use DNA!!!!! These police officers tried solving crimes for the past 8 years turned in DNA samples and no hits came back. They assumed then it was not a felon that committed the crime, but it very well could have been, and they could have caught them IF the DNA was on file!!!! How many lives could have been saved? How many crimes should never have been committed? It has nothing to do with never getting caught again, or using fingerprints, and they do not know if it is missing, they may have never have had it! Your reasoning shows complete ignorance and lack of thought.
