"Occupied Cyprus"? Isn't that the UN term for the Republic of North Cyprus?
When did they get a UN vote?
I thought that the UN was still pretending it that, like Somaliland and the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic, it doesn't exist.

No, they are referring to the internationally-recognized government of Cyprus.
I guess Cyprus won't be the third country to grant diplomatic recognition to South Ossetia, since they don't want anyone to recognize the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (so far no one except Turkey has done so).
