Throughout her previous 17-year marriage she tried repeatedly to get pregnant, but was told it could never happen because of fibroids and various other conditions. Besides, her then-lover had told her he'd had a vasectomy, she says. I have known quite a few couples that try very hard to have a child and spend $$$$ on all sorts of treatments. When nothing works, they eventually give up and plan for a life without children. Then BAMO - wife is pregnant!

When nothing works, they eventually give up and plan for a life without children. We tried the medical route a couple of times, but money didn't allow further treatments. We gave up on all of it and had resigned ourselves to "if it happens, it happens, if it doesn't, it wasn't meant to be".
My son is now in kindergarten and his sister is chock-full of the terrible twos.
Funny how that works.
