"Kearns said Bush 'spoke directly to America's school children about taking control of heir own lives and dreams. He urged them to stay in school, to stay off drugs and to work towards making our schools violence free.' "

I don’t have a problem with Obama speaking. I have a problem with teachers asking kids how to help him, and/or a lesson plan filled with faintly hidden praise for our Dear Leader.

Good find. Too bad there’s no related URL.

"When President George H.W. Bush delivered a similar speech on October 1, 1991, from Alice Deal Junior High School in Washington DC, the controversy was just beginning. Democrats, then the majority party in Congress, not only denounced Bush's speech -- they also ordered the General Accounting Office to investigate its production and later summoned top Bush administration officials to Capitol Hill for an extensive hearing on the issue." I bet they spent more taxpayer dollars on the “investigation” than was spent producing the speech.
