Same thing has happened here over many years, it's completely intentional, and is the step to creating a Police State, can't have common law and right or wrong interfering in Government Policy Enforcement, that wouldn't do.

They underfund the Police, but fund other neo-political statute enforcement, here they are called Police Community Support Officers or PCSO's.

Government employees that look like Police, talk like Police, work in the same buildings and offices as Police, use the same cars as Police, have the same uniforms as Police, use the same Radios as Police, have access to the same information as Police, but you know what?

They're not Police, They're Government Statute Enforcement Officers, they are not about right or wrong, they are there to enforce Government Policy, irrespective of common law or 'right or wrong'.
