Unreal: MSNBC edits clip of man with gun at Obama rally to support racism narrative

I missed this yesterday at Newsbusters but Treacher, rightly aghast, tipped me to it this afternoon. Never will you see a starker example of MSNBC getting away with the sort of deception for which Fox News would be pilloried, especially in the context of race. If you missed Monday’s post about this, go watch the footage (or look at this photo) and see if you can deduce why they wouldn’t want to show the guy with the rifle from the neck up during this particular segment. For all the well-deserved heat that MSNBC’s primetime line-up has taken for its demagoguery — Maddow has been notably egregious during the health-care blowup — this proves that they’re not above pulling this crap during their daytime “hard news” segments either.

When you’re done with the clip, scroll through the new photo gallery Zombie’s put together of the many, many, many “Kill Bush” signs at leftist protests over the past eight years. Thank goodness outlets like MSNBC and the Huffington Post took such “blunt, no-argument stances” against that sort of insanity at the time.

For a brief periods the media bragged that the election of Obama was huge stroke for reducing prejudice in this country.

Now that Obama is loosing popularity, by his own failures, I might add, the media is having to create racism.

That's what I would say.

Some here said the guy was a Dem plant posing for a false-flag op. I believe there was some actual evidence - though somewhat inconclusive - to support the claim.

However, even if that's true, I would STILL be glad to see him there with his AR regardless of his politics.

First of all, if he was trying to make us look bad, he did a lousy job of it. He actually makes us look good.

Second I'm all for liberals, blacks, gays, greens whoever indulging in their RKBA. They have rights too, and gun ownership often creates converts for our side.

It was also said that FINALLY a black (socialist) could get ahead in this country. BUT “the man” is still holding him back. Too many bitter Americans “with guns” (scratch that he’s a black mantoo).

Anyway, you have to admit it was a historice election. Then again EVERY election makes history and shapes the future of this country. But it’s racist to point that out. This is an example of MSNBC flat out lying. Why anyone would take this network seriously is beyond me.

Why should anybody be surprised about this... The parent network, NBC, has a long history of "doctoring" "news" reports in order to make them fit in with their editorial spin. After all, NBC is the network that (over the objections of dozens of police departments and organizations) ran a story on "cop killer bullets," which ignored the fact that not a single cop had ever been killed by "cop killer bullets," but they did advertise that police officers were wearing ballistic vests. So the number of officers killed in the line of duty increased, directly due to the report by NBC. Then there was the case of the flaming pickup trucks, where in order to get the footage of a burning pickup in a wreck, NBC had to use pyrotechnical devices to actually get the trucks to catch on fire. There are plenty more examples...

What's ironic is that to the true believers at MSNBC no doubt think that their editing made the clip more true.

That woman is just unbelievable. I’m sitting here with my mouth open saying what the heck was that? This man carrying that huge gun was a black man and she states because Obama is a black man that there must be a racial undertone to these people carrying????

I can’t stand MSNBC and flip through it as quickly as I can. I don’t even want to see their symbol. I really do hope that the majority of our black Americans do not feel that this is true at all. I can’t stand OB, but I also do not believe he is a true black American if he’s even American at all.
