Well, quite honestly, McCain has usually been a fiscal conservative. All this idiocy that the Congress has been passing has been fiscally oriented.

Wait until immigration comes up again. Then we’ll see his true colors.

He is for amnesty for 40 million illegals, that is not fiscally conservative by any stretch of the imagination

Well, quite honestly, McCain has usually been a fiscal conservative.

"Fiscal conservative" is a dearly beloved phrase among wealthy Californians, where warm spit is considered the height of political sophistication, because they think they can't be pinned down.

However (and quite honestly), "fiscal conservatives" have never met a socialist policy they didn't like.

It's merely a backdoor approach. Vote in socialist policies, and then once they're law, appropriate the funding secondarily, behind the curtain.

You want to see the results of "fiscal conservative" policies? Just take a look at California State finances.

His immigration bill is the starting point for the one about to go to committee next month.

I agree with that. It's so freaking annoying that the one chance he had to really be a fiscal conservative (torpedo the 2008 bailout bill), he dropped the ball.

Not only immigration

I still have hopes that on CapNTax he may abandon the medieval darkness and come into the light.

He votes against pork most of the time, I’ll give him that. Good for you Johnny.

But he was also famously against Bush’s first tax cut and had to make up some BS excuse to explain his opposition away when the time came to run for President.

And he’s worked with democrats on many programs to enlarge the federal government and waste taxpayers dollars.
