As I see it, health care reform should encompass three issues; coverage for folks with pre-existing conditions, portability, and a way to insure that low income folks actually pay something, even if reduced, for their medical insurance/care.
Here’s a suggestion.
1 Allow doctors and hospitals to write off charity care on their taxes. This will increase the amount of care to those who can’t afford insurance greatly.
2. Tort reform. This will cut the cost for everyone making it easier to afford insurance.
I repeat the story of the patient who was admitted to the hospital but had no insurance...he was youngish and in basic good health....he had his fancy lap top and cell phone.....but no, he couldn’t, or wouldn’t, buy health insurance.

...and if he had a pre-existing condition it was more than likely couldn’t rather than wouldn’t.

We already do, so there is no need for Obama care.
Giving everyone a million would work, if it were given and then exactly one year later the taxes for a gifted million were to come due, and the gifted million had accompanying it the instructions of how much would be assessed the following year, plus exorbitant taxes on any interest earned on the gifted million. For too many, that is the only way they will ever understand taxation and government tyranny.
Is the census to enumerate the population or take orders for the next wave of social programs like a waiter in a restaurant?
Anyone who’s ever been to an emeregency room knows; we ARE paying for them. The idea that the government needs to seize all hospitals and put the insurance companies out of business to get the unwashed masses medical care is as much a fantasy as the idea that we have people in this country who are starving.
Health Care is not about getting insurance for Pizza Hut employees, it is about the Government taking the power of life and death over peoples lives.
Health care is about slavery...
Vote for Obama and instead of change, you get chains.
