The allegation that ALL nutrients will be REMOVED from ALL foods is preposterous. Nothing on this thread provides evidence that such a thing is being attempted. I've long thought that Codex was a distraction from real issues. It may still be. But 2479 is a monstrosity. It was toned down a little, but still contains requirements for all food sellers and preparers to have federal registration and inspection. Also all ingredients of food, whether added or naturally occuring can be regulated for purposes of "food safety".
I suggest you take a hard long look at 2479. Read the whole thing. Your statement is technically correct, nothing in it says that all nutrients will be removed. But in 2479, any ingredient, whether natural or added, can be removed at the direction of government "scientists" (you know the ones who brought us "global warming").

I'm opposed to 2479 and I have vegetable gardens and livestock. I'm also opposed to the Codex.
But just for pointing out the "technically correct," look at the abuse that has been heaped.
The hyperbole and the ad hominem reaction only serve to blunt credibility of 2479/Codex criticism.

True, flamewars accomplish nothing. One question is whether the Codex link is justified or whether it is coincidental. The Codex has been talked about for decades and attracted its share of naturocranks. But 2479 has not been discussed much at all and yet could be even worse all by itself, not explicitly for natural or organic foods, but for merely the vast scope of new government authority which could lead to many kinds of restrictions.

To all the dopes and naysayers. The Codex has to come into play here, it’s the other side of the coin to Government Healthcare. When folks are told “No, you cannot have this cancer procedure” they are going to try natural cures, and believe me, they do exist. But they cannot have that, thus the Codex is coming and will eventually remove all suppliments from the market, declare who is a nutritionalist (and pepsi and other companies are members of the group who will define nutrition) and so on.
I have just make myself completely symptom free of a horrid disease, it can be done, and it’s easier than you might think, the Codex must come into law, otherwise, many people would find out the pharmies have been duping them and believe me, being told no, you must die, is going to wake up alot of folks to “true” healing of the bodies terrain.

Damn. I cannot compete with that. All I offer would be homelessness, malnutrition, dysentary and cholera, war and famine and nuclear holocaust.
