I am inclined to believe a real one is out there and we are getting close. The MO might be saturate the public domain with so many fakes, by the time the real one is uncovered no one will have credibility. (So, they think!)
It is important to follow up on each one to confirm or deny it. We should never dismiss one ‘just because.’

I have three saved images from before 8am. One from WND, the now notorious Salamander edit of same, and the scribd version. The scribd version definitely shows EF and 47O44. The Salamander version which by Salamander’s own admission was a copy of the original shows the same — EF and 47O44. The WND one shows the same, as well, and still does on their site now. I’m pretty sure that whatever you’ve got is just a resolution artifact.
No, I downloaded at nearly the same time and mine has 47,644 and K.F. Lavender.
You can save that image as a JPEG on your computer, then zoom in and plainly see the “K”. I’ve got a Mac and I’m using the Preview app. I’ve zoomed in several levels, and though the photo gets blurry, the “K” is plain as day. In fact, it’s clearer at higher levels of magnification than the other letters and numbers. I’ve zoomed in six levels and it’s still readable, while everything else around it is hopelessly blurred.
The first photo at the top of this thread has “K.F. Lavender”.
If you can’t see it, that’s your problem.

We would need to know what the monetary/coin denominations used in Kenya at the time were. They may be different tnow, and with Independence just having been declared and the republic established, there may have been some changes in the coin of the realm, and those may have taken place over a period of time.
That has already been extensively dealt with. The coastal zone was in effect "leased" to Kenya. When the copy was made in 64, the clerk person transferring the info would have most likely have put Kenya, since that area was part of Kenya at that time.

I am not sure what to think. If it should have been c instead of d the forger made an amateurish mistake or else the original copy was changed. I would think they at least had a BC of the ERA to copy...so until I see one I am in limbo...but not holding my breath. As we all knew the key was to check the books and page and probably everything near it! I don’t know maybe the official printer made a mistake, wouldn’t be the first time! Need something to compare with right now...

I’m with you Salamander....the one you posted is the one I saved not 10 or so minutes from the thread breaking. The one with 47,644 looks like the hacked one IMO. For the 6 is out of line from the rest of the numbers
