How House Bill Runs Over Grandma

Somebody who is musically inclined could probably make a lot of dough, or become the next big YouTube sensation, if he or she would take that old Christmas "classic", "Grandma Gor Run Over By A Reindeer", and just change the words to fit in with what's happening now. The title of the "new" song could then be "Grandma Got Run Over By Her Fed Care".

It could actually turn out to be the new theme song for those opposed to Nationalized Health Care.

If I had to depend on the NHS for health care, I’d be dead. If you’re over 55, you don’t get dialysis there. I just turned 56 today and have been on dialysis since May of last year. I guess I would not be worth keeping alive.

Handy, isn’t it, that the young, who are allowed to live, just happen to be of voting age and easy to manipulate by leftists, whereas older folks, who are slated for annihilation, are typically more conservative?

It is horrific.

On the plus side, while I don't normally discuss politics with others in conversation I am getting a smattering of hints from even some of the socially-liberal Seattle types that they do not like the direction of this administration, with gov't control of everything.

It’s more simple than that.

Eliminate health care for the elderly, solve the social security problem.

“What criteria will be used to decide if patient A or patient B gets the pill and the other gets surgery? The possibility for abuse and craziness is endless. Will a Muslim clerk deny a Jewish person? Will a Christian deny a Muslim? A gay guy (ala that Paris Hilton thing) routinely deny women, and a married clerk kill singles? More likely, will the drug addled little creep in charge of the files just go eenny meeny miney mo, I’m going to Starbucks? This thing has not, you know darn well, been thought thru, much less read.”

Will a liberal deny a conservative after consulting one of many online sources - Facebook, Twitter, FreeRepublic, OpenSecrets, and on and on...

Thanks Lexinom! Other than Obama and this power-grabbing Congress, life is good...

That way, the government gets to keep their "unused" 50 years worth of Social Security money.

Good point, I haven't heard any of the talk shows mention this angle. Perhaps that's why we haven't heard anything about "fixing" SocSec since 0bama's been in office, they've already found the final solution to the problem.

... The possibility for abuse and craziness is endless.

And, just like when you run afoul of the IRS or any gvt agency the appeals process is long and hard at best. Try reasoning with any bureaucrat and see how far you get.

This article is undermined by their dopey example. Stephen Hawking is in fact British and has been receiving care in the UK since he was diagnosed in the early 70s, although I’m not sure of the particulars his situation.

People such as scientist Stephen Hawking wouldn't have a chance in the U.K., where the National Health Service would say the life of this brilliant man, because of his physical handicaps, is essentially worthless.

They wouldn't be talking about British citizen Sir Stephen Hawking would they? Idiocy like this doesn't help.

Much like the implication in the original article that Sir Stephen Hawking 'would' be dead if he relied on the NHS, the sentence I just quoted is an outright lie.
