Is Falcon AFB a new one? ... it must be at the Academy .....always wanted to go to either the AF or Navy academy ...
Falcon AFB was renamed Shriever AFB in the late 90’s and is located east of Colorado Springs. It’s home to a lot of missle and space defense type units.
Falcon AFS is where the tracking station is located east of Colorado Springs. Peterson AFB shares the runway with the airport right downtown. The Academy is north of the Springs about 10 miles out.
I guess Colorado Springs surrendered after the Air Force had them surrounded.
There is no Falcon AFB.
Falcon was what Schriever is now. It was renamed 11 years ago (ish).
...it must be at the Academy
It's not near the Academy (which is at the north end of town).
It's east of Peterson (south end).
always wanted to go to either the AF or Navy academy ...
The AFA is awesome. I'm always inspired whenever I'm on base.
Yeah, he means the Academy. Also Peterson AFB, Schriever AFB, NORTHCOM, SPACECOM, NORAD and Fort Carson. Crawling with military, including 600 Canadian AF personnel attached to NORAD.
It's politically very conservative, but that is due more to the military and the libertarians than the evangelicals (though they are a significant component). Church attendance is only slightly higher than the national average, though that may be because every Sunday morning the gorgeous mountains are out there with outstretched arms and calling "Come unto me...".
