Okay, this is getting really good. Dem Rep. Neil Abercrombie of Hawaii is going to introduce a resolution on the House floor today that seems designed to put House GOPers who are flirting with birtherism in a jam.
The measure Abercrombie will introduce commemorates the 50th anniversary of Hawaiis statehood. But heres the rub, his spokesman tells me: It describes Hawaii as Barack Obamas birthplace.
In the language of the resolution, there is a statement that Hawaii is the birthplace of the 44th President of the United States, Abercrombie spokesman Dave Helfert confirms.
That confronts House GOPers with a choice: They can vote for the measure, and endorse the idea that Obama was born in Hawaii, which could earn the wrath of birthers. Or they can vote against commemorating the 50th states joining of our blessed Union. Or GOPers can skip the vote, but that could look nutty.

the most tumultuous decade since the 60s
Perhaps that’s because all the bad actors today are from the 1960’s.
Here is an example:
“As a hippie transplant from Buffalo, Neil Abercrombie was in the late 1960s and early 1970s involved in a scandal over tearing down military facilities—fighting to drive the ROTC out of what 1960s anti-American war activists called the shacks on the UH Manoa campus.
“Four decades later, as a Congressman, Abercrombie could become embroiled in a scandal over building up military facilities—steering construction contracts of a military base on Guam towards a major campaign contributor.”
I also read where Abercrombie went to Indonesia with much cash which he used to cover Obama’s tracks.
“Perhaps thats because all the bad actors today are from the 1960s.”
Bingo.
Funny you mention Buffalo. I was there in the mid-70s and I know it was a hotbed for political and social activism. “Attica!” was still a rallying cry and mobilizing issue, one of several anyways.
So let me get this straight, instead of just showing his birth certificate they are actually going to legistlate his birth. They have nothing, they basically just admitted it. This whole 0bama spectacle is a freak show.
You have to really dig deep to find out that information. He’s such a humble man that he won’t mention it.
Great idea! A couple of photocopies of the original birth certificate would do. When they’re done with them, send one to the national archive and save one for the Obama presidential library.
Where is the courage of these Rats? Make it a bill. Sign it into law. Make it into a constitutional amendment. What chickens, a resolution.
We were wrong:
(From WND)
Meanwhile, in a development seen as related, Rep. Neil Abercrombie, D-Hawaii, sponsored a resolution commemorating the 50th anniversary of Hawaii’s statehood was first postponed when it was noted the resolution included the following clause: “Whereas the 44th President of the United States, Barack Obama, was born in Hawaii on August 4, 1961.”
Some apparently saw the resolution as a veiled attempt to get Congress to affirm Obama’s U.S. birth.
Abercrombie’s office had already issued a statement today announcing the House’s unanimous approval of Abercrombie’s resolution when Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minnesota, rose to object to the vote, saying there was not a quorum present.
The House later voted unanimously 378 to 0 to approve the resolution.
“Fifty-five people didn’t vote for whatever reason,” Abercrombie spokesman Randy Obata told the Honolulu Advertiser. “Apparently there was no objection in the final analysis.”
Bachman ended up voting in favor of the resolution.
The White House has refused to acknowledge repeated requests from WND that Obama authorize the Hawaii DOH to release all his birth records, including his original long-form birth certificate.
WND also has reported Obama has not released his kindergarten records, Punahou school records, Occidental College records, Columbia University records, Columbia thesis, Harvard Law School records, Harvard Law Review articles, scholarly articles from the University of Chicago, passport, medical records, files from his years as an Illinois state senator, Illinois State Bar Association records, any baptism records and his adoption records.
