Ann Coulter Says Obama's Birth Certificate "Not an Issue"; Calls Proponents "Cranks" - Video 7/25/09

Here is video of Ann Coulter on with Geraldo Rivera last night saying that President Obama's Birth Certificate is "not an issue," and that it is just being pushed by a "few cranks" out there. Coulter blamed the Mainstream Media's lack of in-depth reporting on Obama for the rise of those who believe there has been a conspiracy to keep the truth from the American people on the issue of Obama's birth.

Geraldo criticized Lou Dobbs as being a "dope" for talking about the issue, and for his opposition to illegal immigration. Coulter disagreed with Geraldo about Lou Dobbs, but said he is wrong on the birth certificate issue. Mike Huckabee chimed in that Hillary Clinton would have used the issue against Obama in the primaries if there had been anything to the story. . . . . . (Watch Video)

Maybe now you could explain the reports that the address given in that 99% sure newspaper birth announcement (LOL) is not an address where anyone connected with the de facto president ever lived.

I would believe a written record created at the time over the failure of neighbors to remember who lived in the cottage in back of the house at 6085 Kalanianaole Highway 48 years ago.

I don’t know about your state, ChildOfThe60s, but in mine if you took a long form handwritten bc to the dmv, it wouldn’t be accepted. You need a printed government issued colb to get a drivers license, and the same for a passport.

Well, my wife had to produce her original BC here in Kentucky. That's what they asked for, and that's what they accepted. AND she was forced to produce our original marriage license because her BC had a different last name than her old FL license.

Sorry, it is still my opinion that Obama is skating on multiple things.

And, going off on a slight tangent, my comment that BO and the rest are not subjected to the same laws as are we applies to multiple areas of discussion. This really does go much further than this single issue. The line has been crossed from "representative" to "ruler".

I’ve seen this argument made here quite a few times, which leads me to wonder - since when does foreign law determine who is a US citizen? Or what type?

'The Hawaii birth announcement means nothing. Anyone can announce a birth."

That's what I thought too. That was, until someone pointed out to me that the announcement came from the HI Bureau of Vital records. It wasn't a paid announcement that some newspapers had back then and even today. My own grandmother paid for announcement in my dad's hometown newspaper. But, it wasn't reported in the vital-records section like Obama's is. It's pretty compelling.

There's something on the BC he doesn't want getting out, but I'm no longer sure it's his actual place of birth.

So all this talk of no record of them living there is derived from interviews with neighbors, who we’re to believe have a crystal clear recollection of late 1961?

Not knocking you at all woody, I’m just asking all these people who keep posting that for a link to a refutable new source that shows what they assert to be true. What proof is there that no Obama or Dunham lived there at the time? I see this posted as fact all the time, so there better be a link forthcoming.

Such as...?

What laws are they not subject to?

What line has been crossed? Can you cite examples?

As far as I've seen, yes.

The house was owned by Orland and Thelma Lefforge, both of whom are deceased. Orland died on 4 July 2007, and Thelma on 12 June 2008, just as the birther issue was getting underway. They might have remembered or been able to search their rent records. Perhaps their descendants still could.

So you have your choice. You can believe the contemporaneous birth announcement. Or you can buy the cockamamie birfer conspiracy theory that the 6085 address was chosen for the forged announcement based on the conveniently timed Lefforge obit.

Of course, all the birth announcement corroborates is that the birth was in fact registered with the State of Hawaii at the time in question. The birthers will still maintain that examination of the long form will reveal the registration as fraudulent.

Love saying that, don't you?

The proper quote from this video is Rivera saying “Geraldo, you ignorant slut”

Even a broken clock etc...

I liked the video, especially Coulter saying Dobbs was right and Geraldo was wrong on illegal immigration, and calling Rivera "the liberal on Fox"

The page before last you put up a pic of the same said document with the worst blatant cloning i’ve seen in days, and purported it to be true. You can’t really speak of credibility, and expect to be acknowledged when you seed that kind of misinformation. You really think the state of Hawaii gave him a false colb when he requested one, or do you just post whatever ends up in your inbox? Or was that of your own creation?

Thanks for the thorough research. The announcement was made in 61 though, That can’t be refuted. Unless the birthers want to say that address was chosen at random 48 years ago, and the owners were killed off to keep em quiet, then I’m not sure what else could be speculated.

Wow, actually, FR peeps did have some to say about it.

Man they even charted out their kids and grandkids and encouraged peeps to try to get a hold of them and ask them questions... That isn’t being a conservative, thats being a stalker. Thats one step from being a psychopath.

You make an assertion without backing it up.
my explanation for why this piece of non-verifiable claims is repeated is that some people are desperate to believe
the birther theory and will latch on to things, even if irrelevent, to bolster the claim.

The birth announcement was derived from state of Hawaii records office, ergo his birth was filed with the state of Hawaii in early August 1961.

No it doesnt. Rhodes was pre-14th amendment.

The key point about Rhodes is that it - like all the other court rulings - equates citizenship at birth with ‘natural-born’ citizenship. They are the same:
“all persons born in the allegiance of the United States are natural-born citizens.”

If Obama was born in the allegiance of the United States, ie was a citizen at birth, he’s a natural-born US citizen.

The nuttier birthers are attempting to do exactly that. They are maintaining the microfiche showing the announcements have been forged.

It's hard to forge microfiche. To do it convincingly, you would have turn up a machine (the technology is obsolete), dummy up a newspaper page, photograph it, develop the fiche, and age it convincingly. And, most difficult of all, you would need to find all extant copies of the genuine fiche and substitute your counterfeit.

It is a mindset of congress as well as specific laws. Congressional members routinely get away with criminal activities that most of us would not. Congress rarely does anything about crimes committed by its members.

Along the lines of their attitude in regards to the application of laws to them and to us. Some of these specifically may have changed recently, but my point remains. When possible, congress considers itself above you and me. Rulers and ruled:

http://www.heritage.org/research/governmentreform/bg965.cfm

Their current, ongoing attempt to exempt themselves from the horrific [so called] health care legislation is a fine example. That all by itself is beyond the pale even if there were never any other examples.

That is NOT an official birth certificate from Hawaii in 1963. You can find a real one on worldnetdaily. If that thing is the real McCoy, what is Gov. Linda Lingle sealing and why, and why are his college records under lock and key? And which hospital and what doctor delivered him? No one seems to want the “honor”, for some reason. Bob

“all persons born in the allegiance of the United States are natural-born citizens.”

He was born in allegiance to Great Britain, that much is known fact. Other allegiances at birth are only speculation, since no valid record of birth in the United States has been forthcoming.
