Crowley pleased by president’s phone call (StupidGate)
Boston Globe ^ | July 24, 2009 | By Brian MacQuarrie and Jonathan Saltzman

Shortly after the surprise phone call, Sergeant James M. Crowley told a fellow officer that President Obama expressed regret for jumping to conclusions and commenting that Cambridge police had "acted stupidly."

The call pleased Crowley, according to the colleague, a veteran officer who asked not to be identified because he is not authorized to speak publicly about the issue. Crowley told his fellow officer that he joked with the president.

"Jimmy said, 'I'd be happy to come to the White House and sit down with you and Gates and have a beer,' " the veteran Cambridge officer said. "The president said he was acceptable to that."

Crowley also asked President Obama if he could use his influence to oust the news media from his front lawn in Natick. "The president said, 'I can't get them off my front lawn,' and Jimmy said, 'Well, your lawn is a lot bigger than my lawn,' " the officer's colleague said.

Steve Killion, president of the Cambridge patrol officers association, praised the president for calling Crowley only a couple of hours after the news conference where union leaders demanded an apology from Obama.

"I'm sure, knowing Sergeant Crowley, it's mended the fence with him,'' said Killion, who had not spoken with Crowley but heard a transcript of the president's remarks. "It's gone some way toward mending the fence with the patrol officers, even though I haven't spoken with any of them yet.''

I would not have accepted the phone call and I certainly wouldn’t accept the invitation to meet with the racist Gates and Obama, so that he can have a nice photo op to show he’s a “healer”.

I wonder if Crowley watched the presser. Obama may have tried to back track on using the word, “stupidly”, but he did not, at all, say he was wrong or sorry about saying it was wrong for the officer to have arrested Gates. I hope Sergeant Crowley realizes he is nothing more than a gnat that had to be dealt with so Obama could move on with his agenda.

So he wanted to condemn the officer for the arrest, with out condemning the arrest ... or is it he wanted to condemn the arrest with out condemning the arresting officer, whose judgment caused the arrest ... he wants to condemn the officers judgment with out condemning the officer ... no wonder he needs a beer.

I'm thinking more along these lines...

In other words, "I shouldn't have said "stupidly". I should have said "with lack of general cognitive ability".

Officer Crowley is on record for not voting for Obama.

And...you would be wrong in your assessment on Irish cops from Massachusetts overall.

If Gates is that crazy when he is sober- I sure would not want to offer him a beer and then stick around to see what he does next!

(Crowley at locked WH gate)

“But what of all those sweet words you spoke in private?” Crowley, speaking to intercom
“Oh that’s just what we call pillow talk in politics, baby, that’s all.” Zero

Well, perhaps. But considering as how I grew up there, and then married the daughter of one (a Cambridge one, no less) -- my other big regret, I think "you would be wrong in your assessment" of my assessment.

If officer Crowley sells his badge and soul to Obamessiah for the cost of a having a beer with Obama after the "president" called him and the actions of the entire police department STUPID, then he should be ashamed of himself because he will bring disgrace upon himself, the uniform, his badge and police men all over America.

Don't do it, it wouldn'tbe prudent!

Another thing....I want everybody to stop referring to Gates as a “renowned scholar.” He’s nothing but a black supremacist race pimp. He’s no better than Jackson or Sharpton, except that they probably have a lot more money. He’s just trying to get in on their game-—the talk show appearances, invitations to give eulogies at the funerals of prominent blacks, an appointment to the federal bench, or organizing a boycott of any company who hires more whites than blacks.

Just a minor note, Crowley was not a “beat cop.” Patrolmen are assigned to specific beats, and the Sgt. supervises. In Crowley’s case, he wrote in his report that he was in uniform in an unmarked police cruiser, and was assigned to the Administrative Section, working 0700 to 1530. From reading the report, I conclude that he responded to the call because he was nearby, and not because he was specifically dispatched to it.

Disappointed that Crowley took the call.

Yep, he turned it political by implying that all police were McCain supporters, therefore deserving his derision. It also meant they think Crowley and the rest of police could be discounted as they were only acting along political lines, and not that 0 was wrong.
