That is a very awesome monument. Have you ever seen the monument to Col. Strong Vincent? It is on top of Little Round Top and is the oldest monument in the park.

Wow, no kidding. Kinda says it all, doesn't it?
But I have to wonder ... how many folks go up there, look at that monument and ask "So, what's the deal with that 'L'?"

A true American hero. Few know of Chamberlain's story, and I'm sorry to say few know the tragedy of this period of American history.
I's sorry to say the the Great State of Maine has two Senators (Snowe, Collins)who lack the strength and conviction that Chamberlain had.
