I have an acquaintance who owns a construction business. He has $7M in won bids for municipal construction projects that will bring the towns into EPA compliance for separating storm sewers from sewage lines so raw sewage doesn’t get into the water shed. These projects are going on all across the US.
Here’s the kicker. Cities who were planning to issue bonds and finance these projects locally are not starting the projects in hopes of getting stimulus money. He has had to layoff ~50 workers and will likely lose the whole summer of business and productivity BECAUSE OF Porkulus.
