Curious. Another post was not only frozen, but deleted. I am perfectly in tune with the idea that FR does not support hateful or erroneous sentiments. But, for those of us in the generations following Mr. Cronkite's heyday, is it not appropriate to treat him as we would a contemporary "news" man?

Are we now obligated to declare Michael Jackson a great musician without mentioning his very questionable faults? That Cronkite was a beloved news man now obligates us to ignore his post-professional anti-American sentiments?

I am willing to acknowledge his importance in the grand scheme of American culture; can I not laugh at the irony that God dumped the news on a Friday?

"...that God dumped the news on Friday."

Now THAT was a jolt.

I hope Walter had someone in his life who loves God and even if he could not bring himself to proclaim faith, I hope he heard the words of Christ.

Hardly... just keep your criticism below the obscene. There is much to criticize - just do it with foul words, and we'll leave you alone (and probably agree with you.) (grin)
