Krauthammer: Not just criminalization of policy, but declaration of war [between Dems & Repubs]
NRO ^ | 07/13/2009 | Charles Krauthammer

Posted on 07/14/2009 3:46:38 PM PDT by BuckeyeTexan

Krauthammer's take from last night's All-Stars Panel on Special Report with Bret Baier:

On Eric Holder possibly appointing a prosecutor to investigate Bush-era interrogation techniques:

If he does this, it is a terrible mistake. What we heard today, that [the special prosecutor] will only be for rogue interrogators who went outside the law—presumably, you know, [for] sadists who wanted to have a good time out of the rubric of interrogation. I'm not sure there are a lot of those.

What will happen is once you appoint a prosecutor, as we know from past history, he's out of control. There are no limits on what he or she can do. And that means it will not stop with the rogue interrogator. It will go all the way to lawyers. It will go up to politicians.

And what this would be would be a criminalization of policy differences with a previous administration in the middle of two wars—in a way that will create open warfare (a) with the CIA, and (b) between Democrats and Republicans. This is a declaration of war if it...does actually come to pass.

The Harvard-educated liberal shrink ignores the VERITAS
of the fact that Holder has already supported intimidation
of whites and Republicans and conservatives by thugs,
gangsters, ACORN and any other of the DNC-protected
criminal and DNC-protected terrorist group.
..
Many will fear voting in the next election due to Holder and Obama.

So true. The Republicans in D.C. think they’re playing a gentleman’s game and don’t realize that the Democrats are playing for blood. They will be in shock when they’re investigated and summarily prosecuted.

When are the independent militia groups going to start popping up? In the 90’s I thought they were wackos, I won’t think that this time....

That could be an effective response. If we threaten to prosecute not just Obama but also agents of his administration, in any capacity except legislative, we might be able to convince them not to go down this road.

Then again, who really believes the current D.C. Republicans have the (ahem) to follow through with those threats once they’re back in the majority?

John McCain could have had Obama by the proverbial throat last October. Then he announced we had nothing to fear from an Obama presidency. He thinks he was being honorable in doing so. I think he was dangerously naive - as are the rest of them in D.C. who insist on playing a gentleman’s game with blood-thirsty savages.

It’s just too bad we can’t also prosecute the guilty legislators.

Dopn’t be silly. The Democrats will burn their way through the politicians fast enough and then they’ll look around and find other easier targets ~ LIKE YOU!

They’re already forming. I’m in Texas and I see signs of it already. They’re hiding in plain sight.

It's the ultimate blackmail:

1) Threaten investigations and show trials for the previous administration

2) However, let us spend the money we want to spend and allow us to move forward with our agenda with little to no interference and we will sweep these allegations under the rug

3)However, do not play ball with us and we will put your Vice President on trial and, move forward with our agenda anyway

4) Spare the country the trauma, step aside and leave us alone

I just wonder how many we have on the right side to stand up to this.

“Your thoughts?”

Perhaps Obama knows that his usurper status is fixing to be revealed/discovered and he is throwing this ridiculous ‘threat’ out there to try and stop it from happening.

Or else he is just a little marxist dictator wannabe(or both)....either way, it’s not going to end well. However, if he is thrown out of office, our country might survive.

As I have posted many, many times in the last few weeks as we watched Obama's poll numbers start to tank: WATCH OUT. These guys are most dangerous when they are threatened and low poll numbers are a threat to both their socialist agenda and to their re-election (and re-re-election!!). It was entirely predictable that they would drum up something to distract the attention of the voting public away from the obvious failures of their domestic policies. (The shoe is yet to drop on their foreign policy failures but that will come soon enough from North Korea, Iran, the Russians in Georgia, Venezuela invading Honduras or whatever. It is inevitable.)

Post of the day! Clinton merely wagged the dog, I do not mean Monica. Obama will stop at nothing to attain and retain power. This is congruent with Marxist Ideology.

What they fail to notice is that turnaround is fairplay. Imagine Obama facing “rogue investigations” after his term is up. Boy would the libs and MSM squawk!!!!

They would do more than squawk. Obama's people would make the cities burn, and would converge on Washington with machetes.

Your post has nothing to do what so ever with interrogation techniques....

If you hate Bush/Cheney, you must want to destroy Obama....

Please don’t mix apples and oranges on these posts.

At this point, I’m not afraid of voting in the next election, but then I live in a very conservative area of Texas where criminal thugs would be fools to let the sun set on them.

(Attention lurkers: No, I don’t mean black people. I mean obvious criminals up to no good.)

I can see where people who live in extremely blue states with cities of high-crime might feel that way.

Yea but - they also got sick of it because of the State Run Media spin which generated symapthy for Clintigula and hate towards Ken Starr. That was nothing compared to the spin and hate they would generate should this develop into an investigation.

Cheney is was a big government socialist hawk on foreign policy. He deserves what he gets. People who support big government from both parties are evil.

“Thus the liberal disdain for and scoffing at Tea Party demonstrations. They believe peaceful protests are our only tool.”

Tea Parties were laughed at because they were non violent. If people showed up with guns, they would have at least been feared, which is better than being laughed at. Even at the time I thought Tea Parties were as useless as they turned out to be.
