Within minutes, six-year-old Rubjit Thindal went from happily chatting in the back seat of the car to collapsing and dying in her father's arms.

"If we had known it was so serious, we would have called 911,'' Kuldip Thindal, Rubjit's distraught mother, said in Punjabi yesterday. "She just had a stomach ache -- she wasn't even crying.''

Rubjit was pronounced dead at hospital barely 24 hours after showing signs of a fever. Later, doctors told her parents she had the H1N1 influenza virus. She is believed to be the youngest person in Canada with the virus to have died.

What’s the matter? I thought you were the expert. Now you’re having to pull in moral support.

Good grief you doomsayers are a brilliant lot.

The flu hits every single year, and every single year Freeper relatives come down with it, and some die.

That is not an indication that we are all going to die, or that the next big population killer is upon us.

Get a grip.

As for those who are ill, I am sorry that they are and extend to them and their relatives every good wish and prayer for a good outcome.

You can say 36,000 deaths a year , Yada , Yada .

But if you know someone who has died it’s a different story .

I know of freeper’s who have lost a loved one from the swineflu .

And 2 were healthy people with no pre-exisiting conditions .

They have posted about it on this thread ...

I don’t wish anyone to die , & it can’t hurt to be informed.

Flu Victim Family’s Statement
http://www.fox13now.com/news/kstu-utah-third-deaths-family-statement,0,4966333.story

7:40 PM MDT, June 14, 2009
Our family would like to express thanks to the Shock and Trauma unit at IMCH. And to those who have prayed and supported our family over the past 2 weeks.

Francine and her mother became ill with the flu two weeks ago today. Her mother tested positive and was treated for the flu and has since recovered. Francine tested negative and was sent home. Her health continued to decline, and three days later she was taken to Jordan Valley Hospital. For the second time she tested negative, was sent home, and told to increase fluids and rest.

We begged the doctors to treat her with Tama flu because it had helped her mother, but they refused because her test had come back negative. After another three days she became incapacitated, and was again taken to Jordan Valley where she was admitted and found to have pneumonia, plus all of the symptoms associated with the flu, but once again tested negative. At this point she had had the flu for approximately eight days, untreated. Her condition continued to decline, and on Tuesday was transferred to IMC Hospital. By this time her body was so ravaged from the virus that her kidneys and lungs started to fail and brain activity had diminished. On Wednesday, June 10 we received a positive Type-A flu test, and on Thursday we received, from the CDC, a positive test for H1N1, Swine Flu.

After fighting a valiant battle she succumbed to this illness. It has been reported that she had underlying illnesses that contributed to her death, but according to her doctors she died from lung damage, kidney failure, and brain damage which were all strong and healthy prior to contracting the virus.

Swamping people with stats which are being played with to make absurd conclusions, is no help to anyone.

I just had someone explain to me in all seriousness, that there are only fifty deaths of children each year from the flu. (age zero to 17)

Children being one of the highest risk groups, you have to wonder where people’s heads are at, to believe this stuff.

Children (high risk group) 50 deaths from the flu each year. They used CDC stats to bolster their premise.

Okay, then the low risk groups would have less than fifty deaths. Okay, I’m really buying this. Then of course the elderly, the other high risk group may have had double the children’s rate, so let’s call that 100.

So what this person was essentially saying was that we have about 200 influenza deaths per year.

You folks have slipped a grove, and don’t even know it.

You call this helpful?

Yada yada is exactly right...

Just read a few more of your comments and you are so way out of line it’s amazing. I know the posting history of justsaynomore and DvdMom and they are NOT pushing vaccines. What they are promoting is information and knowledge, so people can know what is going on and make informed choices.

Something you apparently don’t want to happen for some unkonwn reason.

DoughtyONe, I’ve been studying - literally spending hundreds of hours - about flu pandemic since about 2004 or 2005.

The CDC number of “36,000” deaths a year from flu is bogus. It is not based on people who were tested for flu, had flu symptoms, or even actual people who died. It is based solely on statistical modeling - that more people die in the winter than summer, and even then, the people they say died of flu are 90 or 95% over 65. They only started this number thing in about 2003. My personal opinion is they started touting this number to (a) get people to take flu vaccine and (b) to play down the danger of pandemic.

Ever since this pandemic started, the CDC spokesholes have been saying “it’s no big deal, since 36,000 people die a year from flu anyway”. It is trying to compare not apples and oranges, but apples and can openers, or apples and car jacks. They trot this number out to calm the people, and that is all it is.

The heads of CDC - the big guys there, who make decisions - are political appointees. They have actually stated, just like the WHO which is run by the Chinese commie puppet, Margaret Chan who screwed up big time with SARS and caused more people to die than if she hadn’t screwed up, that economic and social concerns are more important than a “few” deaths. Trusting like is believe me like trusting Geithner or Bernanke.

The vast majority of people who die from seasonal flu - and it is not 36.000 a year - are the very elderly who have one foot in the grave, so to speak, and either the flu, another virus, or bacterial pneumonia pushes them to the other side.

This flu is very, very different.

If you drop your contentious attitude and read for a few hours about flu, about the CDC numbers, and what this flu is doing, how it presents compared to regular flu, and so on, you’ll be wiser and less contentious.

I’ve pretty much made my point here, at least to my satisfaction, so I’m not looking to hang out on the thread and make life miserable for those who wish to wallow in this.

I’ve spent about 35 years in and around the health care industry. Every year I have seen a number of people die in my hospital from complications from the flu.

I realize we can split these deaths out of influenza, pneumonia, heart failure, and probably a number of other side issues. The fact is, they die from the onset of influenza and the complications that develop.

That’s just one hospital. There are hundreds of hospitals in my region alone.

Look folks, if you wish to think there are only 1,000 deaths from influenza each year, believe it with my blessing. Please don’t try to trot this out to everyone and make them a believer.

I’m not a big lover of the CDC or the NIH, but I’ll have to tell you, I’m more in their camp on this one than I am in yours.

Earlier this year we were all going to be dead by now, according to the naysayers. Well, I don’t know about you, but I’m still here. Last year it was the bird flu. Before that it was some other malady. Who knows what it will be next year. Whatever it is, we’ll have some tag-team here trying to get everyone’s house in order, since they’re gonna die, but quick.

Later...

It’s just the regular CDC pabulum statement of 36K deaths a year.

Some people just want to keep thinking that they know everything and refuse to learn. So be it. Admitting “Gosh, I was wrong. I thought I knew, and I didn’t.” is very hard for many people.

To want to know the truth even if it means giving up fondly held beliefs or viewpoints is the only way to live life and be happy and peaceful inside. Whether that truth is about illness, life, or death.

And did you notice evey year the same number 36,000.

It never goes up , it never goes down just 36,000.

I wonder if they say the people who die from HIV / Aids

is the same number year after year after year ??

Please let the CDC know right away, because they’re operating under the false impression that children are a high risk group.
