If something like Waco were to start to unfold today,
the feds wouldn’t have to worry about gunfire coming from INSIDE the “compound” as much as from OUTSIDE their perimeter.
But during WACO there were many normal, gun-owning civilians who wanted the Feds to hurry things up, not pussy-foot around. If you are painted as a cultist or some other kind of untermench then the American people will not help you.
Also: even if the battlelines are clearer than Waco, there may be too much ingrained respect for LEOs, too much wheat mixed with the chaff even in the ATF for a future resistance movement to be comfortable with shooting on them.
Nevertheless: I am sure the American people would rise against tyranny - of course they would - I just don't think they'll be breaking any seiges.
