A Prince George's County woman fatally shot her husband in an apparent act of self-defense Saturday after he attacked her at the Capitol Heights duplex where the pair lived in separate units, according to police and neighbors.
Just after 8 a.m., authorities said, police were called to the home in the 700 block of Capitol Heights Boulevard on a report of a domestic dispute. In front of the house, they found Richard Marcellous Wilson, 30, with a gunshot wound. He was taken to a hospital, where he died.
Police said Wilson's wife fired the fatal shot.
The circumstances of the incident are unclear, but police think that the shooting "appears to have been in self-defense," said Cpl. Mike Rodriguez, a spokesman for the Prince George's police department. Wilson, police said, had violated an active protective order when he attacked his wife.
Rodriguez declined to name the shooter because she is a victim in the case and has not been charged.

"I never saw her scared," he said. "She might have really feared for her life and did what she needed to do to live another day."
McKinney said Wilson's wife had a security job.
Online court records indicate that she had made allegations of violence against Wilson. He was charged with violating a protective order May 15, and about a month later, court records show, he was found not guilty on an assault charge after his wife "invoked marital privilege after oath."

I agree with you, but the poster, the Idiot, was saying the opposite, that the woman was inciting this...
Excuse me a second, Someone is killed, and the first thing the poster said is the women brought this own herself.... I stand with what I said. It was simple to the point and true.
Gosh. I didn’t realize how bad it is out there, being a little too sheltered in my HEA marriage of nearly 30 years.
Your buddy sounds as if he has gone a bit insane. Was he like that before? It’s a good thing for the two daughters that the stepmother has taken over the parenting duties.
But the mutual restraining orders still sounds like a good idea.
It really is that bad out there. I live close to a city that has some wealthy couples that for some reason as soon as the kids are grown the moms are dumping the dads. I made a pact I would never date anyone from that city. The husbands and dads are completely blindsided after being married so long.
The buddy had a reputation for getting into different hobbies at the drop of a hat. I had no idea he did that with people and loved ones. When he left, he wrote what as close to being a suicide note when he disappeared. It was weeks after that his brother was able to track down the moving van and the destination. He moved in with the mistress. I think at this point he has now moved in with his brother. Maybe she kicked him out.
Today, there is supposed to be a court judgement on the other car he took, the jewelry and her camera.
I forgot to mention. He stole her camera and left his older film camera as a replacement.
Excuse me, but the woman murdered someone and then accused him of some lesser crime without a shred of evidence.
The poster you very rudely attacked had a legitimate question - the woman made a simple accusation after shooting and killing an unarmed man in front of the house where they both lived.
Women naturally always assume that the man is guilty of something... which is why some guys have had enough. Look at the case of Mary Winkler - who did not even serve a year in jail for murdering her husband in cold blood.

Shouldn't this read "an alleged act of self-defense"?
Possibly, God knows the truth.
Very similar to Virginia in terms of Castle Doctrine, although various gun rights groups here are trying to push a Castle Doctrine through. We have the case law precedent also, but why have to worry about that?
We’re pretty reasonable with respect to CWP.
I’ve had three friends die of murder suicides, I wish they were armed, and they were not guilty.....just dead. The assumptions here are beyond the pail of human decency. I stand by my statements.
wha? you wish they were armed and they were not guilty? huh?
you know 3 different sets of people who have been murdered and then the murderer took their own life? i assume they were all domestics.
you wish they were armed, but i posit that being armed would have made little difference. obviously these people knew eachother, their routines, habits. it's not hard to catch someone you know off-guard.
and they were not guilty of what? infidelity? spousal abuse? theft?
I’m sorry you will never understand, and all the ‘splanin in the word will not help a sole like your’s
Wow. Only three grammatical errors I see, off-hand. I was never trying to be antagonistic. Just asking you legit questions. But I see you have a massive chip on your shoulder and zero capacity to explain yourself (at least not in English). See ya.
Don’t get married without a prenuptial agreement.
It was not understood, because it was poorly written, like everything you’ve posted on this thread, especially your first, mean, nasty, incorrect and totally uncalled for post.
all the splanin in the word will not help a sole like
Do you write like this to be humorous, because it worked!
The moderator did not find them very amusing either - your ad-hominem attack was deleted.
(I am not the one who hit the abuse button - if anyone did.)
Hmmm.
Another person to put on the list of ‘people to not ever be friends with because their friends always end up dead’.
Like Angela Landsbury in Murder She Wrote.
ha! or matlock, columbo, kojak, and the kids from scooby doo.
