DOSWELL, Va. - Was it a UFO or something else that hovered in the sky over Kings Dominion Amusement Park this weekend? That's the question many are asking after watching a video posted on You Tube.
The video shows a large dark hollow circle formation in the middle of the sky, near one of the park's rides.
WAVY.com contacted Kings Dominion, which is located 20 miles North of Richmond. A spokesperson said it is a smoke ring from the park's Volcano ride.
Whatever it was, it has people talking. Let us know what you think by leaving your comments below or taking the poll to the left of the screen.
:)
Have a nice day!
LMAO!!!! Good parody, sir.
“Never mind. Eyelash on the lens.”
Thanks.
Will check it this evening.
I posted about one ring UFO on a thread recently. Might be the same one.
YUP. Was the same one. I forget which thread.
Thanks.
Have you ever ridden the Volcano? You're not likely to see anything on that ride.
The flames go off at regular intervals during the ride. And, based on the positioning of the camera, that ring is directly over the Volcano.
It’s interesting how UFO’s are always either proven hoaxes or otherwise explainable.
Which is why I said that someone must have seen it rising. Meaning someone NOT on the ride. Sorry if that wasn't clear. Maybe the guy with the camera did but didn't think to start shooting until it was too late.
Fair enough. Didn’t mean to sound snippy.
It’s possible with that cloud cover, and just the general positioning of the Volcano and where this film was shot that it just wasn’t that obvious.
Nope - not very bright at all.
My brother actually recorded that video when he was at Kings Dominion on Saturday, and put that on YouTube for us family members to see. (He is properly credited on the news sites now as well). He just thinks it was probably the volcano smoke too, and has no trouble with the Kings Dominion explanation. He filmed it because he thought it looked so odd when it retained that shape for 15-20 minutes, and didnt appear to move away at all. It stayed exactly like that for far longer than this minute-long clip. Lots of people were gathered around to watch it, and no one recalled seeing the obvious gradual ascent the ring would have taken on its way that high.
“DOSWELL, Va.”
That explains it. They were just lost, looking for Roswell.
No problemo.
Dunno about the fire and stuff though. I’d have to see the thing in full action. From the angle it looked like the camera person would be clear from any pyro-technics.
Oh yeah, it’s just “flames” that shoot out of the top of the mountain.
Ah, ah, ah...I clearly stated 'fire and stuff'. Which puts it somewhere above mere flames.
Seriously though, I guess I'm going to have to get a look at this bad boy one day. Sounds like quite the display.
Save yourself $50. You can see it from the parking lot. :-)
