Holocaust Museum Shooter: Christian hating Socialist
FrontPage Magazine ^ | June 11, 2009 | Ben Johnson

Posted on 06/11/2009 7:59:25 AM PDT by Stepan12

James Von Brunn’s writings don’t sound very “right-wing.”

On June 10, the nation tragically witnessed a memorial dedicated to commemorating an atrocity become the site of yet more death. Just before 1 p.m., longtime neo-Nazi James Wenneker Von Brunn entered the Holocaust Museum on the National Mall and opened fire in an attempt to complete the Final Solution his hero had left tentative, an omission Von Brunn dubbed “Hitler’s biggest mistake.” As former Defense Secretary Bill Cohen wandered the museum grounds, Von Brunn killed Stephen T. Johns, a black security officer, then was shot himself. As of this writing, the 88-year-old is in critical condition.

The white-wing fringe greeted the news with predictable joy. Its most popular website, Stormfront.org, saluted “White Racialist Treasure: James Von Brunn” in 2004; a thoughtful reader, seeing Von Brunn had backed up his recent threats with deadly action, wrote yesterday, “Definitely needs a bump today.” Another hoped the shooting would cause Americans to believe taking their children to Holocaust memorials is now “an insurance risk.”

Yet racists are not alone in their glee. Leftists have decided to exploit Von Brunn’s madness to engender fear of rampant conservative terrorism. They overlook one point: the shooter was not a conservative.

A review of his lengthy associations reveals Von Brunn hardly fits the stereotype of a Religious Right, GOP precinct captain. He denounced the Christian faith as a dastardly Jewish conspiracy, a “HOAX” invented by the Apostle Paul to “DESTROY ROMAN CULTURE” from within by undermining its pagan virility. (All screaming capitalization and grammatical errors in this piece appear in the original.) Like others on the racist fringe, the shooter proclaimed clearly: “SOCIALISM, represents the future of the West.”

This is a somewhat lengthy article, but still useful. It shows this gentlemen's racialist, Socialist, and Wotanist (non Christian) beliefs.

There was a guy on Beck’s show last night who said something to this effect. Essentially, right-wingers are compassionate individualists. They would not seek out the death of a person due to race, religion, etc.

In this case, the guy is an admitted racist, bigot, and anti-semite—that catapults him to the left side of the aisle and their “equality” collectivists.

This article doesn’t surprise me.

Didja catch the FR reference?

The usually staid Alan Colmes smeared the mainstream conservative website FreeRepublic.com, an attack quickly recycled by a ThinkProgress.org reader, who added this sterling political analysis: “There isn't really a line drawn between the right wing ‘base’ and neo-Nazis any more. It's a single continuum, and freepers is right there in that gray area.”

It also doesn't suprise me that this fellow believes Christianity is some sort of Jewish conspiracy (Hitler held pretty much the same view).

I guess the Christian compassion is not very much to his liking.

Please don’t refer to crooks, bums, killers and lunatics as gentlemen. They are difinitively not.

I think the formerly decent website, Little Green Footballs, tried to smear the Free Republic in a similiar manner.

Practically anyone can post on Free Republic and not all the posts are gems.

But I put gentlemen (actually gentleman) in italics! Italics are used for emphasis and, also, for irony. I was using italics when referring to him for irony. It's a common practice.

I find it funny that Obama and all the MSM talking heads talk about this racist, white supremacist and his hatred towards Jews and Blacks, but they can’t bring themselves to say the same thing about Obama’s boy “Reverend” Wright and his racist comments towards Jews and White people.

With all the assassin’s anti-Christian rants, he most reminds me of Obama and his people.

Too many on the left tend to lump everyone opposed to them in the same evil "fundie" camp. An examination of people like the museum killer often shows a contempt for the brotherhood teachings of Jesus. Hardly the typical fundie of liberal bad dreams.

But to be fair, it's also true that on our side we often lump liberals of many different types and temperaments in the same wicked grouping too. I think both sides would do well to show a little maturity and realize that not everybody opposed to their view of things is an evil enemy. Our republic presupposes that people are mature enough to handle political differences without falling to political hysterics.

He definitely has a lot more in common with 0bama’s crowd (Wright, Farakhan, Black Panthers, Muslims, etc)

than with any conservative.

Practically anyone can post on Free Republic and not all the posts are gems.

There's no group in the world that generates comments that are all gems. None.

But the reality is this...there is virtually no anti-semitism here on FR...quite the opposite.

This shooter was as far from FR's general mentality as night is from day. I'm surprised to hear that Little Green Footballs bashed FR. I thought they were pretty much like this forum.

Ah, more news that’s not fit to be reported by the Lame Stream Media (because it doesn’t fit in with their agenda).
