Yeah, well that “baby and bath water” thing kind of sums it up. He’s a pro-abortion “white belt and shoes” Republican politician. Effective as a local politician against crime, but that’s his absolute limit. And, even at that, I wouldn’t want his elitist, autocratic, martinet ways governing my city. I said it a long time ago, I say it again now and I’ll say it as long as I live: Rudy will never get a vote from me.
She can be friends and colleagues with Rudy without taking on his beliefs and attitudes. Why not garner support for herself from all corners of the party? She’s not going to change her beliefs in order to get that support; she showed that during the campaign of 2008.
Why not? In my opinion, because the “party” is toast. Bunch of phonied-up frat boy cheerleaders and car salesmen. Between the RNC and the DNC, elections are just deciding whose turn it is on top in the gang bang. We are the “bangee”. Screw them both.
There are many more people in the GOP than the clueless leaders. She recognizes that she’ll need as much support in the GOP as she can get, from folks who are politically and monetarily influential, as well as the guy on the street. Who knows, she might even help bring some folks back to the conservative side, once they see a strong leader expounding those ideas again.
Must have sunglasses ping!
You’re wasting your time. The Good Lord could run on a ticket with Rudy and freepers wouldn’t vote for him.
New Yorkers know what he did for the city. We all know what Obama is doing to the country. We’ll have eight years of Obama because nobody is pure enough to be a conservative candidate.
I think there are many more who have left the party than the clueless leaders will ever imagine. Let them rot in their matching belts and shoes. The Republican “brand” is finished.
Way to go, Sarah. I approve! :)
You’re right. Nice sunglasses.
And Sarah is one of the few who look great in white.
She’d look good in a burlap bag.
That’s what folks thought after Jimmah won the White House, too.
Hey, if she’ll pal around with McCain, she’ll pal around with anybody.
I think that was a very different time. We had not gone through so many lies and betrayals by Republicans posing as conservatives. Reagan had a ready sort of political apparatus which could attract voters to him and to the party. Will there be another figure of Reagan’s stature? I hope so, but I don’t think whoever it is will find the Republican Party as useful or viable vehicle.
But we can spot them, now, and we can respond immediately to them when they try to snow us. We didn't have that capability even 20 years ago, before x42 got into office. That's why it seems so much more contentious now; we can react much more quickly.
